What do you put in your christmas stockings?

I have 3 little ones so they get a stocking each I don't purposely look for things to fill them but usually put smaller things such as sweets and the type of things from Hawkins bazaar in them. They really love the stockings and getting their hands in to find what is right at the toes. I think it is the lucky dip experience that they enjoy, but I don't wrap the pressies that go in the stockings.0

Thanks for the heads up on crafty crocodiles
I ordered lots of mini stocking fillers from the picket money section, small unusual things like you would get from hawkins bizarre, some are 15p each so got plenty to bump up his stocking. I also ordered some cellophane for my pots of gold

Thank you for the links ladies bought a good few stocking fillers for DD. I also got a few felt craft projects from Filoro Gifts (.com) to make for her xmas eve hamper, a lot cheaper than hawkins bazaar :T Got 2 of the felt dolls and the Russian felt purse - going to fill it with chocolate coins
to go in with her pjs and letter from MrC.

Thanks for all the ideas, I stopped doing stockings for my DS and DD last year(they're 19 and 22) but I really missed doing them! So I'm giving them a stocking again this year, plus DDs boyfriend.......
Also for the first time ever I'm doing a table present to open with Christmas dinner. DDs boyfriend's family have table presents and I thought it was a lovely idea. I bought Union Jack mugs in Sainsburys last week (1/2 price at £1.25, they still had them yesterday) and I'll fill them with sweets, and a scratchcard.0 -
Great thread, think I'll subscribe. I did table pressies a couple of years ago. I made my Mum and MIL little needlecases, which they still use. I bought my FIL one of those little lights you can attach to your book, he uses it all the time and it only cost a couple of pounds !!

I like the idea of a needlecase, my daughter's off to study fashion at uni so would use one, and my Mum does a bit of sewing .....I'll get the sewing machine out over half-term! Thanks for the post.0 -

Pleasantly surprised by a little mp3 player I bought for myself, think it might make a good stocking filler
I do have an ipod and my phone but don't have places to put them so the headphones will still reach (and my phone is needed constantly and don't want the battery to run out when out). Don't have the £40+ for an ipod shuffle so turned to ebay - found a clip-on mp3 player with a rechargable battery in built for 3.49You do have to have a micro sd card to put your music on though. Just connect it to your computer via usb, drag your music on and away you go
The actual seller I bought from has just pushed his price up to 9.99 each (!) but there's loads on offer, some from the uk and some from china. One of them from china is a hello kitty one with all sorts of accessories for £3.46. It is actually the best deal but I needed mine quicker than they could deliver.
They're here if you want a lookhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=&_sacat=73839&LH_BIN=1&_sop=15&_dmpt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_PortableAudio_MP3Players&_odkw=mp3+player&_osacat=73839&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313 (scroll down past the first few accessories)
If you do get one, check a few auctions as some don't include usb cables and most don't include headphones. They seem to take up to 8gb micro sd cards max (you do have to have a card, it has no inbuilt memory)
Might work ok for journeys to/from school/work etc and not be such a burden if lost/stolen?
Mine's already loaded with Christmas songs as the majorityPrincess Sparklepants0
