  • I fill stockings for my Mum Dad sister and OH... Its a bizarre family tradition. They do them back too! As the costs were rocketing last year we agreed maximum spend £20 but you had to have a minimum 10 presents each. I loved the challenge and we all agreed that it was so much more fun. My OH said he could nt believe what you could buy in Poundland!

I m well on my way this year ... I got a carrier bag each and keep adding things in... Travel toothbrush with toothpaste ... books from Poundland. Bizarrely yesterday my OH said what a great book K Brackens biography was better than Martin Johnsons guess which came from poundland! Boots finds go in there too I reckon I might be able to do 15 presents with freebies included
  • thats a great idea Ponymad! I get little bits for my OH as I go along so he gets a stocking too, I think its great to have one for the grown ups and its nice to put so much care into it. DH lost both his parents 5 years ago so I try and make it extra special for him as well as
    the kids.

Got my Christmas pudding 25% off in Sainsburys tonight, something I can't make myself for toffee!!!!!! :)

Thanks for the ideas guys, I was on another thread and someone suggested craftycrocodiles. My word it is a cheap site with loads of xmas bits and bobs for stockings cheaper than hawkins anyway. HTH

I buy my LO small bits for her stocking, we HAVE TO watch polar express and drink our hot chocolates and eat homemade cookies (saving one for the big man himself). I think the hamper is a wonderful idea, this may well become a tradition in our home. :j

PS do you all wrap your stocking gifts? Mine weren't ever wrapped as a child, it does sound like a good idea.... :xmasjig:

It keeps them occupied for longer though, so you can have more sleep :D
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

Tickseed http://www.tickseed.co.uk/ is pretty good for stocking filler type gifts and not too expensive either.

  • I love buying stocking presents!

I have been stocking up for DD (5) throughout the year, mainly little bits of jewellery, stationery and xmas knickers from Monsoon and Paperchase sales. Also like to put something homemade in - last year I made a rag doll.

DS (6 months) will also be requiring a stocking so need to get my thinking cap on for him!
