MSE News: Ryanair 'sticks two fingers up at passengers' with new card fees

I'm supprised its taken Ryanair so long to insist on using its own card? I guess they have taken a good wack from Visa electron, and mastercard pre paid? And why not their in business, not charity.
For me I travel a lot with Ryanair, I know the deal, I like the deal ---its called cheap? I dont know how they do it but they do ? I regulary buy tickets for €10 to my destination and without this many Brits would not have homes in Euro
countries????
I will keep going with whatever card because if anyone can find a British Airways or other flight for €10 please tell me?
Now stop whining and go with the flow?0 -
On principal I will not use RyanAir; never have, never will, until they start to respect their customers. I recently paid extra to fly from Gatwick instead of Bournemouth. I know it cost me £40 more plus petrol to get there but I feel good about sticking to my principals!!:D0

Why are the travel industry the only people to be allowed to charge for credit cards anyway? For anyone else it is illegal.
Also for any other trader it is illegal to charge more for credit card usage than they actually pay (around 5%) to the card merchant and it has to rated as a convenience fee, not a card charge.
So how can they break the law by charging £6 per sector which if this was 5% then it would mean the single seat charge would have to be £120.

Maybe you could find one for me in November because RA has them to Malaga for £40-98 return TOTAL price and I can`t find anything near price that anywhere else.
Maybe you could help.0 -

Ryanair's cabin baggage size is as good as most others, any official correct sized cabin case can be made not to fit it you stuff it really full.
Not the case. Ryanair give you 55cm x 40cm x 20cm, while even Easyjet let you have 56 x 45 x 25cm. 20cm makes for quite a shallow bag! For me this is indicative of Ryanair's contempt for their customers and their philosophy of trying to squeeze every penny from them. If you are used to using a given bag on other airlines you may fall (expensively) foul of the Ryanair regulations if you use it with them. Given Ryanair's record in the area of extra charges it isn't hard for me to believe that Ryanair perhaps are explicitly seeking to benefit in this way.0 -
From the T&C:
Monthly inactivity fee debited from your Card if it has not been used for 6 months is £2.50
This reads to me as, if you don`t use it for 5 months but use it in the 6th (and it doesn`t need to be with RA), then there`s no charge.

I don't particularly like Ryanair but the fact is that everyone posting on this thread potentially benefits from their pricing practicesbecuase they understand them . I never pay excess baggage, I don't pay a card fee, I never buy their scratchcards etc etc Others pay these and it keeps my price down. Put it all in a fair headline price - no thanks !!0

Vote with the wallet. I started off using an electron card then the MasterCard prepaid card but I refuse to use their own card. I don't think the airline is that bad but its not as cheap as everyone makes out. Yes, price is important, but I don't want to have to travel 75km to the city centre after getting to the airport.0
