I am going mental - my poor work colleagues.0

And then ......................................
The glass is always half full, no exceptions !!:D0 -
I had a call last night at 5pm to say we are agreed at £155k, but vendor needs to just check her sister is happy with this and she is on holiday until Monday. Agent is also on holiday until Monday, so he will call me first thing Tuesday to confirm all is well and that I can proceed and instruct solicitors etc.
Now the trusting bit of me thinks this: her and her sister's finances do seem to be intermingled as they seem to live between two properties together, so kind of makes sense.
The more cynical bit of me suspects that she may want to do another weekend of viewings before making a final decision, esp as it has only just gone on with a second agent. TBH I kind of understand that, as its her house and she wants to get best price. Also, I think better she does that now and feels comfortable with accepting offer and proceeding than gets cold feet later and pulls out after I've spent money on surveys etc.
But then I think I'm so close to the asking price she's unlikely to get any closer offers, so it would be a bit strange to hang out for more, just refuse the latest offer and see if I'll go up a bit more? So maybe it is true.
Either way, at least I know I won't hear anything til Tuesday morning, which is the next day I could see my mortgage advisor anyway to sign any papers.
But I am going to keep monitoring any new instructions in the area in case it falls through.
I thought this would be a bit simpler, given how fair my offer was, and that the tricky stuff would be later, but oh well...0 -
Just enjoy your weekend!0

Thanks I actually couldn't do any viewings this weekend anyway because its my birthday and I'm going away.0

Hey good luck for Monday Whirlee, hope they have a brain and accept your offer!!! I too am now impatiant and nervous about Friday as I have my Mortgage appointment and really want it to hurry up and get to Friday so I know one way or the other!!! Its funny I wasn't too bad waiting for offers to be accepted/rejected but waiting to see if I can actually get the mortgage is doing my head in lol!!! Then if I get the mortgage I have to wait for the survey as well ahhhhh!!!

Really hope it goes through for you, but as you say, you are so close to the asking price, it's quite amazing you are having to wait even longer, but just try and enjoy your weekend and hopefully good news will come your way next week!
We are in a similar position, waiting for an answer, our final offer has been put in now, but the vendor is still deciding, it's 9 days since our first offer, and our final offer was made 6 days ago, so it seems we have been waiting forever, I'm just hoping it comes to something in the end, we shall see! 0 -
That's a long time to wait Cheeselady!! If I was you I would say to the EA if you haven't heard back from the Vendor by Monday then you will be looking elsewhere. It doesn't take that long to decide surely!!!0

We last spoke to the estate agent a couple of days ago, they said the vendor is trying to get the right price on a property they are interested in, if they get the price they need, it's likely they will accept our offer, which is on the low side, but the most we would spend on that property, due to the work that needs to be done, so we felt it was worth hanging on a few more days but hope we're not hanging on for nothing, because as a self-confessed control freak, the uncertainty is hard to deal with!

Thanks so much for the support - I hope it works out, but keeping an eye on new instructions as well in case it doesn't.
Cheeselady - you're having to be very patient - I hope your prize for it is the house you want.
AFK - I expect I'll be impatient about the mortgage too, even though I know I can afford it, its still nerve racking.0
