Offer made and waiting for reply

You can't expect to automatically hear back straightaway - the vendors might both be at work, and the EAs might not even have been able to speak to them yet. And then it isn't unreasonable to want to come home and talk it over during the evening. So don't get too stressed!0

Yes I suppose you're right. Just because I would have my mobile on me and make a decision then and there, doesn't mean everyone is the same.
Also since I've got a couple of conditions she might be checking out the cost of fulfilling them before deciding to try and negotiate on them.0 -
            Hi,
I'm new to this area of the forum. I just made an offer on my first house this morning, at 9.10am and still waiting to hear back from the agent. Very nerve racking. I don't know if they've not got hold of the vendor (it is Monday morning presumably she's at work), or if they're playing silly !!!!!!s trying to unnerve me.
This is worse than being a teenager waiting for a boy to call you.
I think I made a fair offer though its on at £157k, been on since end of June with two offers that fell through because of mortgage problems, and I offered £154k, but with a couple of conditions (fix fence etc.).
Trying to work, but on tenterhooks!
Is it normal to wait ages for a reply? On Location, location, location they don't even finish their pints!
LOL... I'm in exactly the same position. Offered half an hour ago and now watching my iPhone whilst pretending to look busy in work! Right, gonna force myself to concentrate on work.. no more moneysavingexpert either!!Friend Debt: 5,000/3,850
2013 Start Mortgage: 306,585/306,585
Overpayments: 0
ISA Saver: £100 -
Good luck Jazzie99 (as long as you're not bidding on the same house!).0

Too right! 3k under asking, blimey! Is that you're first offer?!0 -
Yes - but the property is reasonably priced. Think its a sensible offer given the market in that particular area.0

Is this judgement based on other similar houses are up for?, or, what other similar houses have actually sold for?

Thanks for the link. I did my research and I'm happy its worth the money I've offered.
They came back to say they didn't want one of the conditions and she wanted £156k.
I said we could lost the condition, but my offer was £154k.
So we shall see.0 -
            Argh driving me insane.0
