Hi can anyone help
got a joint of roasting beef in the fridge and it says use by 28th which was yesterday,can i still cook this,will it be ok ??
Its ment to cook it sunday but plans changed so decided to do it mid week,totally forgot to look at the date !

Like Gigervamp, if it looks and smells ok, I'd use it. Yup stick your nose on it and have a good sniff.I would cook it as its only one day over and making sure its well-done will help. Beef is far too expensive to bin, its been in the fridge so its probably pretty cold anyway0

If it's past it's date, but in my judgement stills smells ok, I ususally prefer to give the meat a wash under the cold tap before I cook it.
(Don't usually bother to do this, don't know if everyone else rinses meat before cooking as a matter of course?)0 -
probably best to wash it before you smell it , it can smell a bit ripe but still be fine ( after all they hang it for up to 3 weeks )Vuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0
