:hello: Goooooooood Morning fellow OS'ers :D:D:D

((hugs)) for those who are sleep deprived, unwell, want them or need them!

    Chicken is done
    Quails are done
    Kitchen clean and tidy
    Quick pickup done
    Windows open and house airing
Bed covers all pulled back and airing
    Furbaby fed and played with
    Lads at school

Aahhhhh, peace at last, it's like being in heaven with the gates shut! :):)

Moggins, I know what you mean about OS oozing outwards - remember the days when we asked for sub-forums and we were told it wouldn't happen and there wasn't a need for them? ;)

Pen Pen - the recipe calls for butter and not marg for that very reason - oh and taste, of course ;):D

Put some fabric in the wash this morning as my fingers are getting itchy to do some quilting; not sure just what I want to make, I only know I've got the urge to do something. Knitting is all very well but I do like to see speedier results (impatient little imp that I am :o ) Think I'm steering towards an applique project that I've wanted to accomplish for quite some time but knowing myself as I do, I'll begin to pull out all the fat quarters and something else will spring to mind :o Ho hum.

No major plans for this evening, other than watching the eviction, which should be interesting after WhiskyGate last night between Dirk and Jade :rotfl:

Wishing you all a fun and frugal Friday  :D:D:D

    Morning All

Another blowet day back at work - as it is friday I ran out of energy for making my packed lunch so it is jam sandwiches today (but with HM bread, flapjacks and cheese biscuits).

Hugs to those with LO's who don't sleep. DD thinks 5am is a great tiem to get up - but she lasted until 5.30am this morning.I seem to remember DS was the same at this age (15months)

I must get organised for the weekend as we have nothing planned. If the weather is good enough we will go for a walk in the woods to splash in the puddles --- that will make another load of washing.
I am a tad obessive about fresh air and exercise - especially around this time of year. I think I might have mild SAD so I make sure to go out as much as possible (holidays to sunny climates seem to have disappeared since having the LO's)

Hope every one has a good weekend

Washing machine has just finished and dishwasher is whirring away.

have a large chicken in the slow cooker and will skin and portion it once it has cooled. That means I can use it for a quick rissotto, lasagne or stuffed pancakes tomorrow.

DD is 13 today so need to get her pressies wrapped for later.

Talked DH into driving us to Glasshoughton tonight where there is a choice of places to eat that she will like for a family meal.

Tomorrow she is going to Leeds with a few friends - Pizza Hut lunch and then the cinema - "Night at the Museum" sounds good for them.

Hugs to pennypincher - was going to say I hope they have not kept her in hospital - but if that is what is needed - then just hope she is O.K.

  • Morning Guys!

Another bad night and I feel well rough this morning, but life goes on:D

Beds have been stripped by OH and washed, WM been on twice already, DW due to go on in a while. Cleaner due today, so nothing much else to do.

OH has done some ironing;) I have made a large Spagbol for later as we have nephew and his new missus round for dinner-I sat down on the stool-at least I have contributed towards later:o Needed to use up a pepper and a couple of mushrooms lurking in the fridge so threw those in too. Hopefully there will be enough for another meal for the 3 of us and will stick in the freezer.

Have signed DD up for 3 hrs in 2 weeks helping the local wildlife project. Its just moving brambles and conserving some wooded area, but am sure she will love it and will be a healthy and fun way to spend 3 hrs on a saturday with daddy:eek:

Anyway, Id better go as I need a shower.

    Breakfast-Not hungry
    Lunch-Leftover Shepards Pie and Veg
Dinner: Spagbol, salad and garlic bread

    Hugs to all

    Morning everybody :hello:

PP and Valentine x - hope you are both OK xx

Well, I've been pretty efficient since I last dropped in, all things considered!

On way to opera last night (which was excellent :D) I raided the sales in Covent Garden and managed to pick up three of the remaining things on my "absolutely must get in the sales this Jan" list :j :j - a pair of all-purpose black trousers for work, £12 (not sure of original price as the label had fallen off), a lovely pair of grey and purple leather Diesel trainers down from £80 to £26, and a pair of those expanding things you put inside long boots when you're not wearing them, half price at £5.50. I also (:o) got two pairs of lovely shoes for work, one pair £26.50 the other £24, both beautiful leather, both reduced from £85! Now the only thing I still NEED clothing-wise in the sales this year is an "evening-y" top to go with the skirt I bought before Christmas - I have a charity dinner to go to next week.

I have also signed up with Nationwide internet banking to enable me to start overpaying the mortgage - though TBH I don't think it will be in my best interests to overpay it directly, as I'm planning to open up the Lloyds TSB Monthly Saver paying 8% for 2 years, which even after tax will leave me with 6.4% interest on my savings whereas my mortgage is on a 4.89% fix. Best to use the savings account and pay off a lump sum at the end of the fixed rate period.

And I got onto the council tax office this morning to resolve a mistake they made, which I think is all straightened out now, and phoned Housing Options (the one-stop shop which pools the waiting lists etc. for shared ownership properties across all London boroughs) to ask to be taken off their mailing list as I am still receiving brochures about new flats even though I no longer need one :rotfl:

I *think* I have a Freecycler coming round tonight to pick up a load of cardboard boxes, but he hasn't been back in touch to confirm the time, so not sure if he's coming  I emailed him last night asking him to phone my mobile or email me at work. Tomorrow my dad is coming over to put up some curtain rails for me, and hopefully help me build my wardrobe (I have put sooooo much flatpack stuff together by myself, but that was all cheap MDF-type stuff - the wardrobe is solid pine and really heavy so can't manage it alone).

Lunch will be a Tesco Finest curry (reduced from £3.84 to 99p) and dinner will be HM sausage casserole and rice, reheated from Wednesday's batch (can't be bothered to cook this evening TBH as the flat is in a mess and I'd rather get on with sorting it out).

    Happy Friday to all

Edit: ooooh look, 1000 of my posts have been thanked :D

    Love Rzl xx

    Good Morning All,

Sorry to read how so many people are feeling ill/low spirited today, I must admit that I find it a struggle too when it's these grey days.

gingin, many thanks for the advice on preparing aubergines, I've made a note in my recipe book so that I remember for next time.

It's another quiet day here, I will be making a ginger cake that I didn't get around to doing yesterday, plus I need to work on my budget as I seem to have had a lot of expenditure lately and not much coming in:eek:

Just remembered, I am planning on doing the brisket today in the SC, I must go and find the recipe from here, to see what time I need to put it on.

I'll be back later, hugs to everyone

(I've just checked the brisket recipe and it says 11hrs, so I will have to do it tomorrow. Don't think DH would be happy if I said dinner wasn't until late this evening, especially after 18 holes of golf!)
