Cheque cleared and bank looking much better. I've managed 3 NSD's this week, it's something I'm going to try and aim for/keep track of. I'm also trying to be a bit more organised about lunches now that dh is on a healthy eating regime, I've always been pretty good about taking lunch to work but dh is useless partly because he is busy with 2 jobs but partly because he forgets. So now I'm going to make sure there is some chicken, steak, fish etc and either salad or veggies ready for him to plate up and take with him.
I really want to keep on budget over the next few months as we have ds birthday and party (his first one) to pay for and the balance for the holiday. By my forecast we should have enough money for both and some spare (!!) but I just need to be strict with the budget. For example I needed some skin stuff so I changed some survey points into vouchers and it was essentially free, dh wants a man bag for his work stuff and again I've got survey vouchers that we haven't spent, it just means going to a bigger shop where its in stock rather than going to our closest one or ordering online.

One credit card paid off today!! I had to do the payment manually as for some reason it was only due to go out in feb, despite me not having paid anything this month, so I decided I didn't want to wait for the d/d to go out and paid online by card, so good start to the year. Not that it wasn't forecast but I think I deserve a little celebration anyway.
I think it's May that another one will be paid off so a while before another celebration :-( but the big celebration will be in June when we are debt free!! The only thing left will be car finance, a necessity due to T&C's from work company car policy but is more than covered by the car allowance, this should have paid off by Dec, but we are counting ourselves as debt free as the credit cards/overdrafts were the issue. We should also have enough savings to exceed the balance on the car but no point paying it off as we will need that money for moving house rather than paying off the finance. The small finance payment won't make much difference to affordability checks.
What a difference a year makes!!DFD September 2017

Well we had a lovely weekend it's going to be the last family weekend for a while as dh has picked up a load of extra shifts due to someone handing their notice in and then going off sick. Great news for the budget though and hubby will be able to afford some new work clothes with the extra he has earned, he used some of the vouchers at the weekend to buy new work shoes.
It's pay day for me on Thursday and I should have enough cash in my purse to do a little top up shop to last until then, which means the budget looks good. I'm aiming to be under budget next month by not spending all my spends allowance and I'd like to aim for at least 3 NSD's per week.
