Well I had my hair cut/coloured last night....and I don't like it!! It's a family friend who does it for free in exchange for dh doing odd jobs about the house that her husband can't do due to health issues. The last few times she hasn't really done a good job but I gave her the benefit of the doubt, this she only coloured the roots again so I haven't had a colour all over since last December the result is that I have different coloured hair now and she lopped a load off the length :-( but didn't layer it so its too chunky at the bottom. Long story short I've had enough of it being mediocre and I've booked to go to a salon and have it sorted.

Not much to report, pay days for hubby on Thursday and Friday. Did a small shop over the weekend to stock up on fresh/sandwich/baking stuff. The freezer is full of meat so hopefully our shopping spend should be minimal for the next couple of weeks and I'm going to make an effort to bake at the weekend to cut down on the money spent on snacks.
Really need to crack on with the front room otherwise I will be painting around the xmas decorations....not ideal! Think I might try and get it done this weekend....must ask dh for the stepladders, which was what stopped me from starting it this weekend.

Totally forgot about ds teachers for xmas, anyway I've found and ordered something now, that very nearly upset my target of having everything bought by the end of November!!
Planning on painting this weekend, hope dh remembered to get the stepladders out for me. There's only the walls to do so hopefully I can get it all done then we can have next week for curtains/pictures/putting everything back in the room/spraying my mirror. Then the decorations can got up next weekend. That's the plan anyway no doubt i'll be painting around a tree!!!

Decisions to make about Christmas dinner, i've already bought a big ham which i will do on xmas eve, ds wants turkey so i was going to get one of those small traybake joints. We want beef but do i go for a nice rib of beef or do I just get a couple of nice steaks? Leftover beef is always good, hot beef barms, beef and gravy and homemade chips, beef curry..... where as a steak is just the one meal. We will have a ham to use up as well but that is lunchtimes sorted, ham salad, ham butties, ham and chips. Think I might be talking myself into a big joint! I'm planning on having most of dinner done on xmas eve so I don't spend the day cooking (some veg is already cooked and in the freezer...) so it's really just the meat and reheating everything so doing a joint isn't a big job really.

Well I think I'm almost done, hopefully when dh sees the walls in the daylight it shouldn't be patchy. I'm going to do the woodwork when I have a bit more time between xmas and new year, it looks fine as it is for now. I've given dh a big to do list so tonight will be all about cleaning and putting the room right and then hopefully getting the tree up.

Woohoo front room is done, sort of!! I've still got the radiator/woodwork to do which I'll sort when the tree comes down (not that it's up yet!!) dh has the sockets/switches to replace and we need some stuff on the walls but on the whole I'm happy with it for now. It looks done enough, if you know what I mean.
So now its officially Christmas. DH getting the tree/decks down today so hopefully the tree will be up tonight and then I can concentrate on wrapping/card making and revision.

Well I had a productive weekend, it started off with some revision on Friday night while ds was at his granddads, revision carried on Saturday morning around getting the tree/decs out of the loft, sorting ds toys (1 bin bag to the tip!!) and putting the tree, light and beads up. Then off out for my xmas do on Saturday night.
Sunday I had a lazy start as ds stayed over sat night as well, then spent the afternoon revising, decorated the tree, wrapped the presents that are being given out this week and did myself a big to do list.
It's pay day today so I have been online and moved all the money about hopefully we can keep the spending to a minimum over xmas and stick to budget. DH has his work do this week and I don't know if he has set any money aside for it (prob not!!) so that might be a small overspend, will have to see if I can balance it elsewhere. He has got one pay day next Thursday but I'm not sure about the other as it's due the last Friday of the month but obviously that is xmas day so I'm not sure. Need to go and update the signature.
