• Argh big reply got eaten so here we go again.

We had a busy but productive weekend. We loved one of the houses we viewed both of us are a bit gutted that we can't move yet but it gives us something to aim for. DH came home and rang round job nr 2 sites to offer cover and including using some of his holidays which he needs to take before Jan he is up to full time hours between now and xmas which is great.

I've decided to not renew ds swimming lessons after this term, I'm not impressed at all so I'm going to look for somewhere else.

  • Well it was pay day for dh yesterday and today and it was much better than anticipated. Job number 1 have got a proper tax code for him finally and job nr 2 was a bumper pay due to dh taking on extra shifts and booking some of his holidays. So I got an extra £400 to distribute as I see fit and dh got some extra spends for xmas. Happy days.

DS has got a Halloween party tomorrow so I need to pick up some sausage rolls I've already bought his costume and got 25% off at sainsbobs I picked him up a couple of jumpers/tops as well and dh is planning on getting some work clothes before it finishes on Monday.

  • Well we had a busy Saturday followed by a lazy sunday. On Saturday I did a mad cleaning session, dh went on the sausage roll run and cooked them whilst I cleaned. So the bathroom and bedroom have both had a deep clean and the rest of the house a quick wipe down and hoover, the front room had a big clean last weekend so the only room that really needs sorting is the kitchen (which isn't too bad) and ds room. I also cleaned the fridge!!

Then it was time to get ready off to the Halloween party followed by a trip to nannies and auntie/uncles. Home by 7.30 and phew!!

Sunday was a pj/film day as dh was working which is unusual for him,he had swapped shifts with someone. Ds even had a afternoon nap which is really unusual so I had a nice relax and caught up on some tv.

Bought a couple more xmas prezzies thanks so the tesc0 boost and free £7 @mazon so thanks MSE!!

  • Ahh good new and bad news.

So the good news is that HMRC have finally written back and confirmed that dh owes nothing for his self assessment being
'late', it wasn't late I have a submission receipt reference but their system crashed. So that's £500 we don't owe.

Got a phone call from my ponies loaner and he is lame, vet out today and it looks like his tendon so he needs an x ray/scan...wonderful.

  • £31 of xmas presents left to buy and I've got £20 of vouchers coming through the post, plus £9.20 M@S voucher and £13 of cashback with potentially another £6 before xmas. I've also got £10 of b00ts points and £5 Tesc0. So I think xmas is covered :-)

I've not done anything on my list (booooo) but I have bought dh some new underwear which was massively discounted!!

  • Well I had a lovely relaxing weekend, probably not going to have another of those before xmas especially if I want to get the front room decorated. :-) DH has managed to get overtime at job nr 1 which is great as it's time and a half for Mon-Sat and double for Sundays. Which makes up for him not working xmas day (treble time!!) Now that the majority of the presents are bought I now need to look at xmas food/drink and the homemade cards.

  • Got paid on Friday and have now moved all the money about and set up the payments that I need to make. Over the weekend, around ds numerous parties!!, I found time to order our card making materials and I also ordered myself a few bits and bobs using the money set aside for my spends.

My £20 vouchers have come through the post so that's probably it for survey money this side of xmas. I got a lovely surprise from work colleague on Friday, she gave me £20 worth of food vouchers (from Tesco boost so cost her £5 of points)which wasn't going to use and they were due to expire, so on Sunday we enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch out.

  • Now that all the credit card statements have been issued I have just double checked our current balances and updated my signature with our paid to date percentage. It really does feel like we are getting somewhere now :-) dh has just booked in another 3 overtime shifts as well, that will take his overtime total up to 42 hrs this month....which is amazing. So glad he has decided to take xmas day off now, so we can have a relaxing family day.

Just a couple of bits to buy for xmas now and I have started to look at my shopping list. I'm in 2 minds whether to order an xmas meat pack or to just get everything at Ald1...mmm decisions, decisions.

  • Oooh forgot I was browsing Amaz0n over the weekend and found some great value bayliss and h@rding gift sets so I bought 3 for a total of £13, combined RRP of £36. Always useful to have a few prezzies in the cupboard!!

and I've just had a call off the vet, good news for the pony he is now sound in a straight line and the scan/xray showed no damaged to his tendon, its a ligament which is damaged which has a much better prognosis/recovery time.
