The problem with giffgaff is that I either have to go through all this rigmarole http://support.giffgaff.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/599/kw/port/session/L3NpZC9nX0NDQ1BEaw%3D%3D
or I have to change my phone number.
Just get a new sim (with £5 RAF credit), then make a call to Tesco and fill in the form on giffgaff website.
It's just their unlimited internet that is good for any smartphone.
And no, I am not with giffgaff. I am on contract with Orange ATM.0 -
It never was a problem for anybody.

I actually edited that bit out because I think I went a bit too into detail, how about;

*EDIT* Missed this part; Thanks Cash-strapped, it's very kind of you to give all that information. So I made a start and found this page. http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-install-android-2-2-froyo-on-zte-blade-orange-san-francisco/
The first thing it tells me I have to do is root my handset with Universal Androot Root App (whatever that means). So I go to the app store on my phone and do a search for Universal. Nothing comes up. I get the feeling this could take me days...
Tell you what; Fire me a PM with your email addy & I will email you the tiny little apps you need; We're talking like 200, 300Kbs, smaller than your average Word .doc file, then you can just read the walk-through & have the job done in an afternoon.
You will need to choose & D/L a ROM yourself, as they're about 80-90 Megs in size (still smaller than an episode of Family Guy or an audio CD download, but too big for Gmail to handle).
I do have a couple of suggestions, but I wouldn't "push" one on you, because it's very much personal choice from that point onwards.0 -

I dont want one either. I find that generally, Apples products are over priced fashion icons.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Ok mate, PM/email sent.
I had to send 2 emails, because Gmail doesn't like you sending .exes (usually, for very good reason as anyone will tell you), but because these are the actual files I used to do my own phone, taken from my own phone's backup folder I know they are 100% safe.
Best of luck fella.0 -
If I've understood the situation correctly, this has got to be the wierdest business model ever. It's like a company designs a great new car. It goes to BP and says "We'll let you sell these cars and you can ensure they only accept your fuel plus you can customise them as you wish." BP starts selling them all painted vivid green and yellow. People buy the cars from BP and go to a lot of hassle to paint them back in colours they want and to enable them to accept fuel from any garage. Why on earth doesn't the company just sell people the cars/phones without the customisation?0

it's quite difficult to play catch up when Apple just recycle other peoples ideas.
MMS was about 4 years after everybody else
Bluetooth - still limited
video chat - they tried to convince the world it was new
The iPhone 6 might even come with a removable memory card  well, if they managed to think of a way to stop people downloading anything to it and then copying onto somebody elses iPhone / computer.0
