Yodel - shockingly bad - email address anyone?

  • Does anyone have a list of Yodel Service Centre addresses? Trying to find the address of the Peterborough Depot.
  • My tail of woe with Yodel ( "Woedel" ? :)) is quite a simple one and one that's been heard a thousand times (i.e. waiting in all day for a delivery, no-one came, then get an e-mail saying that they tried to deliver but couldn't and left a card, but didn't) but I'm not one to stand for that, so, based on a punt, I decided to take the advice here and combine the knowledge of Yodel e-mail address being firstname.lastname@yodel.co.uk and their recent news stories confirming the name of their CEO and sent off a complaint e-mail.

My main issue is that Yodel are clearly lying to their customers in some cases. They did not attempt to make a delivery and they did not leave a card and by telling me that, they are just lying ... it's plain and simple. They are trying to make it my fault, when it is in fact theirs. They need to be much more honest with their customers and they also need to sort out their own internal processes to make this type of event less likely. What is it that motivates drivers to flat out lie to both customers and management??

If I'd received a mail to say "sorry, we cocked up and failed to get to you today, here's what we're gonna do about it" then at least I'd have known where I stood. I'd have known it was their fault. I'd have know what to do to resolve it ... afterall, I can hardly call their helpline to arrange a redelivery if I don't have a number from the card put through the door, as I didn't get such a card! Yes, it would be annoying to have wasted a day at home and yes, it would be difficult to re-arrange, but at least you'd know and you'd be in the power seat to get Yodel to deliver on your terms.

For reference, their excuse was roadworks and pda failure in the van. Neither of which are valid in my opinion, since the roadworks in my area are tiny and cause about a minutes delay and even then, my road can be accessed from three other directions, that are all roadwork free!

I fully expected this e-mail to bounce back or be ignored, but much to my surprise, the CEO e-mailed me back at 22.30 last night! We exchanged a few e-mails since then and he has genuinely listened to my grievance and has replied saying that he is new in the role and is treating customer service and what happens when things go wrong as his top priority.

Funnily enough, my parcel was successfully delivered at 11am today, so no doubt he had a small hand in that.

So, try your luck, you never know what you might get!

NB : I'm not gonna state the e-mail address in this comment, but I would hope you, like me, could combine a bit of knowledge and work it out for yourselves.

    Good luck!

The same things listed here happened to me a few months ago. Ordered item. Was to be delivered by Yodel. Waited in all day. No one came but updated the tracking later that day saying they tried to deliver but no one was in and that they left a card. When it was all total lies. No one came and no one left a card. I wasted a whole day waiting for them. No telephone numbers seem to work for them either.

However, then I tweeted them on Twitter on their Twitter handle @YodelOnline

Literally within minutes I got a reply asking me to direct message them all the details of my delivery (i.e. Address, Tracking Number etc.). Within minutes they checked the details and chased the order up and even messaged me the actual mobile number of the actual courier driver who was supposed to be delivering my item and told me to ring him direct and arrange a convenient time for him to come and drop off my parcel. Lo and behold, he came at the exact time we agreed on the phone.

If anyone is having issues and cant get through to anyone to find out where there parcel is or when its getting delivered then I suggest the best way to get in touch with Yodel is via Twitter.

    Regards.

don;t even think the van left, when i question parcel 2 go, they where as bad as ever, when i asked if the above was lies, they said it must be a mistake, no have to wait for tomorrow to see if they arrive,

Also worth pointing out parcel 2 go try and help but only to the level of e-mailing the company concerned and they say they have to wait upto 48 hours,

I have a full copy of the online chat i had and i will publish it, and told them so, but they did not seem to care! either!

So another company to avoid, me thinks,

    Yodel.

Where do I start with this bunch of cowboys...

Run up to Christmas. I didn't know Mrs had ordered via Amazon.

I came back from a walk with our dog to find a guy walking up the path at the side of the house. I asked him who he was and he stated he was the delivery driver.

''No problem. Where's the package?'' Says I.

''I threw it over the fence.'' Says he.

''What, that six foot one there? The one you cannot see over?'' Says me.

    ''Ehm, yes.'' Says he.

''Are you some sort of imbecile? Have you any idea what is over that fence??'' Says me.

    ''Ehm no.'' Says he.

''Well why the f*ck did you just throw it over then!!!''. Says me.

Please bear in mind that normally I am a very reasonable, level headed guy. The weather conditions were atrocious as well, had been for a few days.

It turned out the package was a very expensive box set of DVD's, that were thankfully undamaged.

Mrs e mailed Play.com who phoned back within five minutes apologising profusely.

    Fast forward to yesterday.

Once again I returned from a walk with the dog and found a card stating the following:

''Left box under the motorbike outside''.

    I had a look.

    No box.

Cue more phone calls to both Yodel and Amazon.

A replacement is being sent out. No doubt the cowboy outfit will be delivering.

I just hope someone is in this time....
    Life is now good :)

What makes you think they even try ringing the doorbell?
  • yeah, its true, yodel are turning into, myhermes, these business are running, very similar, although separate,

They collected my parcel today, parcel to go got back to me just with a sorry we messed up, and gave me £5 off my next order, but the £5 ain't showing on my account, so they seem to be as bad, as the company's they try to earn off,

Also when collected there was no paperwork given to me and the driver did not have a pdt, he had a piece of paper and ticked it off, so how good are they,

    its a shambles
  • Please can anyone please help me with an inside person at Yodel (number, email) .. I have been trying to get my parcel for a week now, no calling cards left, apparent reports of attempted delivery when people were in the flat (buzzer checked and working) interaction with callcentre that buzz any number in the stair and all will accept the parcel...)... Sender says not his problem if we are not at home.. but we have been here! This is an Edinburgh delivery but I seriously do not care where in the UK I speak to someone.. as long as this gets resolved. I used to work in shipping in a third world country and they offer better service than this... this is nauseating! The tracking is absolute gobblydeegoop nonsense! I am starting to think they have been buzzing number 6, the only flat not occupied in the stair! At least the poster further down had his thrown over the fence..
