I fell for this rubbish too, cancelled my card and tried phoning perfect radiance to cancel my order after reading proper reviews of what they get up to.
Their phone number didn't work so I assumed they were a fly by night outfit and would hear no more about it.
HOWEVER, something kept nagging back of my mind and I researched further, turns out unless you cancel with them they actually are entitled to take more money off you every month.
Hmm, thought I, and read further.
I got this number from some kind woman on this site: 0808 168 3685 and eventually got through to a chinese sounding, "English speaking rep" who eventually cancelled my order and assured me that there would be nothng posted out. (she didn't want me to cancel, even though I lied and told her I was cancelling because my girlfriend had already ordered the product and as such it was no longer needed - thought that would be more readily accepted than wasting my time arguing down the phone)
She quickly enough accepted that and gave me a cancellation code, but just to make sure I sent an email to confirm I wanted to cancel and have just received this:

Have just to wait 7-10 days for a new credit card (no big deal), have possibly lost £3 postage (that wouldn't even get you a pint so not too worried about that either) and hopefully will NEVER hear from this lot again, other than to responding to confirm my cancellation email
In case you're wondering, I only sent a confirmation email so I have proof of contacting them within the trial period to cancel should anything escalate further.

Hi to everyone who has been scammed by this horrid company. I too fell for their con. I looked at my visa statement and saw I was charged the £2.95 etc for trial samples same as most people plus £79.95 for next order. Rang my bank this morning and they suggested I contact the company and try to get a refund , they also said I should ensure I get a cancellation reference number. I said ok I'll call them and they said 'would you like us to put you through to them' - I was connected immediately! GOBSMACKED!! What's that all about? (So they know all about what's going on!!!) (Santander Bank formerly Alliance & Leicester). I spoke to an American woman from the company who said I could not have a refund but promised to cancel any further debits (and gave me cancellation references. I have realised (having read this forum) that I did not receive trial bottles but full size so I have e-mailed them and demanded a full refund telling them that they have broken their terms and conditions and therefore need to reimburse me. I have threatened to report them to the fraud people at the bank, the trading standards office in West Lothian, and the FSC in USA. I haven't bothered to cancel credit card because on reading this forum it seems to make absolutely no difference whatsoever!! I shall keep you posted people. X0

For all those who have had money taken from their account I know how you feel. My girlfriend has been done for over £600 because the sample products (x2) were purchased against a quite saving account she never uses. It was only after 4 months when some products arrived via the post did the alarm bell start ringing. Originally the sample products had arrived and then nothing for 3 months
I will not bore you with the details, but after about 2 hours on the phone with a major bank, I was finally transferred to someone who was involved in the fraud section and who was actively involved in trying help shut down this organisation. This setup and company is WELL KNOWN to the banks
Here are a some key point people should know.
1. Don’t waste your time ringing and or sending product back. For the few who manage to talk to someone it is all a front to keep the game going.
2. This company and all its associated companies are legal genuine companies that exploit loop holes in the credit card company’s transaction policies before being shut down
3. Once a consumer gives his bank account details, the retailer can withdraw whatever the likes and the bank must honour it as long as the retailer can point to his T&C
4. Future payments will be made until the bank is notified in writing of a dispute, breach of T&C or fraud. A phone call to your bank should start the ball rolling and will be considered the start date, however you will still have to sign a form to query any future payments that they take out. Any transaction from the date of notification will be disputed on your behave by the bank with the credit card company, unless you can prove breach of T&C prior to notify the bank.
5. If you’re lucky the bank may even refund you some money as a good will gesture, but strictly speaking they do no have to as it is not their fault. They are only complying with the credit card and the T&C you allegedly signed up too.
6. As long as the retailer can point these T&C then the bank will authorise the transition until it is cancelled or deputed. Obviously this takes time and only after the consumer notices something is wrong.
7. The Banks are fully aware of this company and its associated companies, but are powerless to stop it. Every time they manage to shut one down they will spring up with a newly formed company and continue the same game.
8. The Credit Card companies are also aware of the problem, but are very reluctant to change their transaction policies, in fear of being found liable for past activities and the impact it may have on their current business model
9. If you do speak to someone remember is all part of the game to keep people thinking. How many of you have said “I got through too....., but the system was down.....” Don't waste your time.
10. Hundreds of people are being scammed; such activities are not going unnoticed. One example was given involving a person who thought the sample offer were brilliant and ordered 15 and then check their bank account 2 months later!!
11. Each sample is tread as a separate agreement.
12. If you have been had by this scam you must be able to prove that the company is in breach of its own T&C before the credit card company will start fighting your corner.
13. The average scam value is for 1-3 products over 2-3 months, before the consumer raises the alarm ball.
14. Must consumers will go straight to their website looking for customer service numbers and waste a week or so trying to resolve the issue directly. Only to find further payment have been made...
Summary.
THIS IS A BIG SCAM in trading practises, the banks are aware, the credit companies are aware but are slow and or reluctant to change their policies to prevent such practises.
IF the offer is too good to be true, it properly is.
p.s. is there anyone on this forum who has had thier money back from the company..

If a company itself wont re-imburse you for the transactions made so far, you could even go as far as saying you are speaking to your bank's fraud team, that you will sue if necessary and that you are recording all phone calls, to try and push them as far as possible, but try to remain calm in your tone of voice. If they wont cancel your subscription immediately, I would ask them on the phone to send out an email regarding the cancellation, with a date if possible.. Regarding bank communication, I have found bank helplines are often very slow to deal with whilst calling from home. They can be hit or miss, with staff often not wanting to deal directly with your current problem. I would rather walk into a bank myself to talk about the issue. Although I am finally handed a phone within the bank (to dial that very same bank helpline number I would have from home), having bank staff there as backup to talk to their own helplines, with hopefully helpful staff at the beginning or end of the conversation, noting that I havent been getting anywhere with the problem, tends to always speed up the process of getting better results. Print out and show that email regarding that subscription cancellation to the bank staff too, if you receive one. Even with no set cancellation date, if you have received a cancellation email, I would forever put it across to the bank that the subscription has been cancelled, and yet the company is still taking money. If any further funds are taken, the bank should note this as a definate fraudulent transaction, and be likely to take further action to re-imburse you or act on your behalf sooner. With an awkward subscription thats impossible to cancel yourself, they should be able to freeze the account, stopping all money being taken. Make sure you tell them that the company is forever postponing the cancellation, continuing to take money regardless, or is purposely difficult to contact, whichever is the case. I would have thought in a subscription situation you cant get out of, a bank could temporarily freeze any money going in or out, whilst you try to find a solution with the company, and be able to transfer your income to a temporary or permanent second account. Unfortunately its not just the financial side where the product selling company is falling short-you only have to watch the youtube 'anti wrinkle photoshop' and 'mr bean transformation' to realize that all magazine imagery/advertising videos associated with beauty products (amongst others) are simply lying to the customer. Im wonder if this could ever be stopped in association with these products in future. The best thing to do thereafter is probably to simply warn others about the very same website-the likelyhood of receiving all your money back may vary depending on the law-the small print you agreed to and their own set location etc, and if you arent getting anywhere via the companies possibly expensive phone lines.0

Have had two more messages confirming cancellation but refusing to reimburse my £74.95. I told them I did not receive trial products so how can I take part in a trial. I received full size goods for which I believe they have fraudulently taken money. I have told them I will instigate fraud proceedings against them and if necessary take them to court. (Thought maybe small claims court - what do others think?).
If no reimbursement forthcoming thought I would write to Mail on Sunday as they have a section where people have been scammed etc - see if we can get something in print about this awful shower of scumbags. Cheers all hope we are successful.0 -
Thanks to everyone for posting comments. I too was totally shocked when I reviewed my credit card on line this evening to see a £75 charge for perfect radiance. I have spoken to a chinese lady who has confirmed that as my 12 day cancellation period finished on 26th I cannot have a refund but she will cancel my contract, this was after I refused a 50% reduction in future cost if I chose to continue - I think I'll go back to Estee Lauder thank you. She did confirm that I would not be charged for the Revitaderm because i was still within the trail period, which was 16 days. So as it stands, I am £75 down for a free trial. Not bad I suppose given that I too received full size products, not the trail size. Didn't really think about this until today, having now read that the full size products do not contain the wrinkle busting ingredxient that was promoted in the initial marketing. So now I intend to get back on to them for a full refund because the item received was not as marketed. I feel a little better than I did an hour ago but will still be cancelling by credit card. I tell you I am so incensed I cannot believe it. That is money I could have spent on my two grandchildren (they had plenty Xmas anyway) but to be scammed makes you so cross. I will not let this go. I have a pub in East London and my customers will know all about it. Got the Olympics hre in a few months so maybe we'll put a banner up about this lot of scumbags!! Much to my shame for being a vain woman and being scammed!! OMG Im so angry.0

I have just been conned in this scam too, although only a few hours ago. Can you tell me, if you cancel before the 12 days is up if they accept the cancellation and do you get your money back ?

I have also just realised that the transaction did not ask for a secondary set of security details which is standard with Santander who I bank with, whenever I pay for anything on line it immediately comes up with a box asking for password and security details so they can text you a code to use, but that did not happen. Does that mean that the payment will still get debited from my account or not ?0 -
Can you understand how any decent person with a conscience can work for this scumbag organisation. I have reached the ripe old age of 61 and am fast losing all faith in my fellow man/woman. It seems there is no cesspit that some people will not wallow in or point they will not stoop to, to earn money.
Another thing I cannot understand is why these web sites are not fined for allowing this crap to appear on their web sites when it ruins their reputation and defrauds thousands out of their readers' hard earned cash or in our situation state pension. This advert is appearing on top newspaper web sites. It was purely by chance that I spotted the terms and conditions on the second advert by which time I cancelled out the payment text and emailed to cancel the first subscription. Within one hour I had cancelled my debit card but the customer services agent told me the last payment on my account was £2.95, just 30 mins after I had subscribed ! There is no box to accept the T & C's either which as someone said is a giveaway I suppose but how do they get away with it. Also can't banks and building societies flag up a warning when you attempt to pay for something on line to ask you to check that what you are paying for is not a scam before letting the payment be finalised, they could add the warning "if in doubt to the legitimacy of this transaction, please check all small print before authorising payment ? Seems simple to me but it would act as a warning to unsuspecting people to check the T & C's first before paying.0
