  • Sounds like you are still doing well - I've had £680 from quidco in 3 years as well as money from other cashback sites etc... If you do Martin's money makeovers and use quidco to switch where appropriate it soon starts to build up

  • Little bit of a setback this morning. I checked the bank last night before going the shop £30+ available, so off to the shop hubby went and spend about £10.

    He went to get some pop for work this morning and declined. ARGH, seems a payment for £25 came out that wasn't showing on the available balance. Thank goodness for the Virtual Sealed pot challenge. £15 transferred in the blink of an eye so we had £9 to last today until we get our meagre amount of Child Tax Credit tomorrow.

    We're still cutting things fine, cutting out the rubbish we spend on bits is doing our overpayments. Things can only get better, and hopefully I can put the £15 back when hubby gets paid so our buffer is back. :D - I WILL not use the CC

  • Pleasant surprise tonight, me and OH have just checked our credit reports and we're both on 900 GOOD. :T

    Answered why I couldn't get a 0% card though as I only have a small amount left to borrow, probably because I work part time and am named on the mortgage and the big loan.

    Not that we WANT credit, it's just nice to know that we'll come out the other side of this with a good rating. :)

    Right, I'm not back in work til Saturday (bar 1.5hrs training in Liverpool today :( ) so I get to write more lists. :D

    Today's plan:

    * [STRIKE]Tidy through the house[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]2 Loads of Washing (at least)[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]Pack eBay parcels that ended last night[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]Pay for 2 Christmas presents I've ordered (from paypal)[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]See if I can find 2 more things to list on eBay - taken pictures need to list[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]Go Liverpool for this silly training[/STRIKE]

    Other things maybe today, maybe tomorrow:

    * Start on sorting out the filing cabinet
    * Cancel credit reports
    * [STRIKE]OH to phone other HFC (think I'm overpaying on that at 0% interest doh) - [/STRIKE]Realised it's 0% so makes no difference to interest overpaying only about £200 on that one now
    * Find even more things to list - done but is a constant todo so may never cross it off. :rotfl:
    * Update calendar so I remember

    Right, lets start with a tidy house. :T

  • Ended up with about 5 more bits listed on eBay, training wasn't to bad. Even won a bag (will do one of the kids for PE) Should have the small amount from paypal by tomorrow so that will make me feel better. Hopefully more to come soon.

    Off to do a few surveys...see if I can get anywhere near a voucher.

    Yes it is boring, but once started and the seeing the debts come down is motivation at it's best.

    I tend to do things in stages as the thought of doing it all is enough to put me off big style. First I just tell myself to take the pictures, then later in the day while browsing the forums I edit them.

    When it's only the listing left it doesn't seem anywhere near as bad and up they go. :cool:

    The fact that I've paid so much off in a couple of weeks is keeping me going, even if most of the high priced items have gone already, it makes me list more so the little bits add up.

    Right full day off today, with no training sneaking in anywhere...just housework. :(

    Today's/Tomorrows list:

    * [STRIKE]Pay £20 off the CC that has come through today[/STRIKE] :D
    * Put a load of washing on (only got one so far :T)
    * [STRIKE]Clean Bathroom[/STRIKE]
    * Clean my room & wash bedding
    * Clean Kids Rooms & wash bedding
    * Mop Upstairs
    * Hoover
    * Clean Front Room
    * Clean Kitchen
    * Mop downstairs
    * Start shredding old paperwork while sorting out filing cabinet
    * See if I have a couple more things I can list on eBay

    WOW that's long, but it is broken down so I get a sense of satisfaction. :A

    May add more as and when I think of it.

  • Well I've just paid the £20. At the moment the CC is showing a balance LESS than I've got. About £30 less, but that doesn't track the interest. I'm using a debt calculator that adds interest as the days go by, when I make a payment I update it at the same time to get a new total.....so it might be less than I've got or I might be right. I guess I'll have to wait until statement day to know if my ways working or not.

  • ARGH Scrap all that.....just got asked to come into work. Was tempted to say no, but that fact I get paid is a plus.
