  • What is quite frightening. Is that from my wages (not OH's) I only pay water that is not a debt for just over £33. That's not including the mortgage or the loan that come out of hubbies wages.

These need to come down. I need to turn my attention to raising money as well as saving it. I'm too impatient to sit around waiting for the next payday. It may have taken me a while to have my LBM but I'm lucky to have OH on board with me. With christmas coming up I need to be realistic - things will be slower. If we can get christmas done and come out the other end with nothing on the credit card while still paying it off that will be a plus.

I've still upped one loan payment by another £1 for next month, so it's currently being £15-£16 overpaid and once the CC is done I'll take that £20 and put it on top. Right to make money.....I suppose there are a few ways, please feel free to shout if you can think of any more.

    * Tesco Clubcard - hubby is doing great at this filling up his work van, and has been working his fill ups around Tesco garages.
    * Surveys - joined one, keep being too slow on filling them in, or not being the 'right candidate' so may have to look at a couple of other sites.
    * eBay - this one I'm doing quite well as the reduction in CC debt already shows. Just need to find some more stuff, go through the house room by room but remembering to leave stuff in there too that we use. :rotfl:
    * Wedding invitations - not really the season, but will have to keep my ears to the ground
    * Overtime - Trying to get more hours at work.....work being slow (going on over 4 months now), maybe it's new job time?
    - hubby is still doing overtime though, on call so never know how much he's going to get but so far it's been busy.

Now I'm stuck.....need more ideas. Anyone want to buy a teenager? :rotfl:

    Makes me feel good. :D

  • I've managed to write the letter - wasn't that bad when I started I just hate things like that. Will get it posted off tomorrow and thats all old accounts closed down. :T

Now the next step is to organise paperwork, its all filed in the right places, just to much of it. Also hubby needs to phone the loan with the highest interest, check how it's worked out so we can see if that's a viable one to pay off next.

Oh and I need to find more things to eBay. Might be time to blitz the kids rooms.

  • Brilliant progress so far, this is the best time of year for Ebay up to Christmas pretty much anything will sell. I hope that you find more "stuff". Well done on the coffee, I've not yet fully cracked that one, down to 3 a week.

Thank you, sometime I do feel like I'm talking to myself, but that's normal at home too. :rotfl: I even go back and read my own posts so it's helping.

I'm hoping to join in more challenges when we get into the swing of things, at the moment it feels like I'm creaming money off this that and the other for different pots, while trying to pay things off too.

Will pop over to the thread in a tick, making more money is my next mission.

I used to run a business on eBay so selling is a bit second nature, however listing odds and ends always did bore me, all the effort in the listing for it to be no good once the only item went. I need to kick myself more.

As for the coffee it's made easier by the lousy weather and Neros being outside and away from my work. It's the toughest for me though so I might have to start having a 'payday' treat one soon.

  • Well these survey sites are 'doin' my head in' keep getting not eligible after answering 20 questions, or pictures/sounds that don't show up on my mac. I might have to look for another way to raise a bit of cash.

eBay is doing well, work - not so much. I'm hoping to get to chat with my manager this next week and find out what is going on over hours as I feel like I'm being used as a scapegoat with no reward.

I've not had any more NSD due to needing shopping/milk etc, but I'm still taking my dinner in, and not buying coffee so I'm saving. :D

Right off to sort out a kitchen cupboard you never know I might find something to sell while there....

  • The kitchen cupboard didn't provide any eBay fodder but it's now lovely and clean...well 2 are. One led to 2. :D

I have quite a few items finishing tonight so I hope to have a transfer on it's way soon, and i do have a couple of things I could probably sell, need to take pictures and get moving on them really, I don't want to loose the momentum.

I've also joined a few more survey sites and quidco figured the more I join the more chance i have of something coming back...time will tell.

Right off to find some more ways of earning while sat down.

  • Well not much on the clear the debt front at the min. Plodding along not spending where we don't have to. Just had some eBay bits finish but only got £20 to transfer so a small one.

I've just listed some more though and have a couple with only a few days left that are doing better so hopefully things will be on the up again.

Surveys - getting bored of them now, but I WILL keep going to see a reward (if I repeat it enough it might happen) also signed up to Quidco, if I get around to spending money I might make some. :rotfl:

On a plus though, looked at the next loan we want to pay off (nothing like looking forward) and taking into account the fact that I've been upping the payments on it by £1 a month for about a while, it's only got around £350 left, should have ran till June 2013 so that's already come down by nearly a year, paid off sooner than even that though if i have my own way. :D
