Halifax PPI redress Payments

Well, I decided to make a second call this week, after the helpful fella had apparently passed on my phone numbers to a manager.....and I got no reply. I'm not usually impatient, but i thought I'd be a little cheeky.
Yesterdays co-incidence was day 22, minute 22 of being on hold. Todays co-incidence was getting through to the same fella as I did yesterday:D
He had a look, and it has definately been passed on to the manager of the redress dept:T. My CC has been put through first....although, he did state, honestly, that doing that job can take up to three weeks, as they have to request statements from the archive dept. I understand from on here, that CCs can take some time to redress, as its complicated. He honestly didn't know if 'urgent' would make any difference.
He had to double check, he'd requested all five cases to be looked at as urgent, he joked he was ready to 'jump out of a window now' if he'd only requested one of my five:rotfl:
So, no news, is possibly good news, at least my day was brightened knowing there are helpful people in amongst the ones that don't care if theres nowt on the screen in front of them!!0 -
@prestonplumber
Bearing in mind that the banks have got thousands of claims to look at, and that some will take longer that others, do you really think that they're going to be able to give out definite timescales for everyone?!
You know, you should really try working in a job where people are demanding exact information, when all you're able to give them is a maybe, then maybe you might have a little more empathy for the poor sods who are sitting there number crunching day in day out.
I want my money as much as the next person, but I'm also a realist. They'll get to my claim when it's my turn, and no amount of e-mailing or calling is going to make a difference to that.~cherie0 -

I agree with you preston that's why I said that's their job, it wasn't my view ....0 -
I paid my dues and my PPI,
I decided to reclaim eye for an eye,
I filled the forms, I sent them off,
4 weeks later they respond in a huff,
They replied as if they cared,
‘Looking into it’ they said they would,
Some more months pass by and not a word,
I ring and ring as they said I could,
They answer that it’s been referred,
With no outcome yet to be heard,
6 months or more since I first complained,
I call them again and nothing but pain,
I still not got my money and I wonder why,
Oh this bloody PPI!:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:Money Saving-Reclaiming-And Won!!!:j:j:j:j:j
£33,000 refunded!!! :j:j:j:j:j0 -
Has anyone check the example workings in the Halifax refund letter? I've just had a look, and I can't make sense of them.
Example 1
4 year loan of £2500, PPI of £519.43, taken out in July 2003, APR 13.1%. Loan ran to the end.
PPI paid (including interest) £665.66
Simple interest £326.07
Total to be repaid: £991.73
Now I know how to work out simple interest, but nothing I try adds up... the only thing I can think of, is if they're using different dates for the date of the refund. I really don't want the hassle of having to dispute the amount once I get an offer from them.
I have an excel spreadsheet (originally supplied by niggly)
If you would like a copy pm me with your email addy0 -
I was on the phone to my claims handler, being told that there was still no update, when she noticed a note go on the system to say that my CC has been sent for redress.
You could literally have knocked me down with a feather.
This basically means that someone now has to trawl through all 189 statements and put the figures into the system. Once that is completed, it will be checked and then a cheque will be issued to me.
They should be working on the loans as well in a different department, but no notes had been put on yet to the effect.
My cliams handler will check on Monday if nothing is heard before then and call me Tuesday with an update.
I know I don't have money, or even figures yet, but I'm all excited like a big kid :rotfl:
Also spoke to my claims handler as was given her direct number, was told thursday my calculations have been done and told me the figures over the phone exactly what i was expecting so pleased, said she has requested cheque from cashier dept should recieve next week heres hoping!:rotfl:0
