Sorry to sound like a drama. BUT I have only now been giving a letter from DD1 to say she is due HPV jabs for school TOMORROW !!
Asking for my consent for all 3 vaccinations over 6mnth period. I find the leaflet giving to me to not be very imfomative (sp).
Has you child had it?
Would you let your child have it?
Any news reports about it? (I do remember something bad about it being discussed a while back).
how long has it been around for? I am so weary .....
Thanks for any help you can give..

If you know nothing about it , and havent studied the subject, why wouldnt you just accept it like the vast majority?
Both my kids had the injections, mainly because I believe the NHS has a better grasp of the subject than I do.0

I have a couple of years yet before I have to give permission for my DD to have these injections. I'll be honest - right now, if I had to make the decision, I'd refuse. Although clearly its a tiny proportion of girls who have a reaction to the injections, the case studies of how bad some of these reactions are, and how long the recovery time has been, really puts me off. I would blame myself if my DD had such a reaction and lost so much of her health, even temporarily.
eta - I really am not trying to scaremonger or anything, usually I'd agree that if the health professionals believe the innoculation is effective and should be given to every teenage girl, then you should consider it. You have tonight at least to look into it a bit more online. You do have a choice.0

I assume you are talking about HPV and no we didn't get my DD jabbed last year. The reason for this is just that it is so new, we were not given much info and not very long to make the decision. She can have the jabs later and as she is still only 13 I want to do my homework properly and be sure it is the right thing. I think that we probably will have her jabbed. I haven't completed my research yet, but I will not rush it and might see whether she can have the one that covers more types of the virus.
However cervical cancer is nasty although they will still have to have smears I believe.0

Am sorry I have edited. Was in a rush to type it out..
I have been reading many reviews, and loads of bad ones about their child suffering from severe headaches, and joint problems since having the jabs, and the doctors dismissing them as a coincidence. Even death has been reported. YIKES!
I don't think I will let her have it done, I mean as long as she uses condoms when that time comes, she will be OK? And we will pay for private smears from the age of when she starts? (I had abnormal cells at age 19).
 What are your thoughts?0

I know of girls my age who have paid to have it done! Although it is ALOT more effective if the jabs are done before the girls become sexually active, which not going to be scary seems to be younger and younger these days. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Averse reactions to all jabs are rare - especially severe reactions. Cervical cancer however is increasingly common, and a killer.
I won't bat an eyelid when my daughter is old enough to have it. Remembering the tragedy of Jade Goody would be enough for me.0
