This is the place to discuss free calls to 0800 numbers on your mobile, as seen in the guide:

This is a new thread for this article - read the old 0800Buster article thread here.

If you've got any suggestions or questions about making free calls to 0800 numbers on your mobile, please join in the discussion :)

Many thanks,

Alternatively, join GiffGaff, who provide free calls to all 0800, 0808 and 0500 freefone numbers.

If you have an Android or iPhone then download the Skype app.

All 0800, 0808 and 0500 numbers appear to be free from the Skype app, you do not need any Skype calling credit.

Of course it will use a little data, but if you're somewhere with wifi then it won't cost you a penny.

No need to swap sims, use other pre dial websites etc.
  • I think Tmobile and Orange block SKYPE

Does anyone else do freephone numbers other than GiffGaff

Surprise that article does not say use www.saynoto0870.com to find an alternative geographical number.
  • GiffGaff rules! I have been using it for almost a year now :j

Does the 0800 Wizard allow you to dial 0800 numbers from your phone's saved contacts? If it forces you to dial the numbers manually, then I don't see what use it is: you may as well just use 0800busters instead.

I've just looked at the Android market and there appears to be a better app which is applicable to all 08 numbers, not just 0800. It's called 08 Wizard.

I'm going to try that one.

  • Only difference is 0800 Wizard is free and 08 Wizard is a 99p download, hence mentioning 0800 Wizard over 08 Wizard in the guide.
