  • Hello graham.very kind of you to put that offer out for those of us who have been affected by this person.just have to correct a few things for you.his full name is adrian john moore.his only car is a vantage which has now been repossesed.all the astons were on hire purchase and all except the vantage were returned to the finance company prior to 2010.in march 2011 a finance company obtained a ccj against him for £157,529.this is still outstanding.i could go on but it makes for very sad reading for those of us who have lost money to somebody who offers something he hasnt got.

Thank you for the corrections, my apologies. I do commiserate as I am in the same boat as you having lost a not inconsiderable sum to this serial fraudster. Hence my offer of help.

  • Yes graham same here, although i may be one of the lucky ones regarding a refund.you wouldnt have a db9 available for hire would you?
  • gje99 I was sold a voucher in November (DB9, 350mi, free delivery/collection), which failed in February. I was then given the option of a refund or alternative voucher in February (DB9, unlimited mileage, 4 additional drivers free)...probably in full knowledge he wouldnt honour it and was going bankrupt. Needless to say i rejected the voucher and persued the refund due to my distrust in him. He continuously lied about processing my refund up until his bankruptcy. I believe I have been one of the lucky ones as my bank got their cash back from Paypal before his bankruptcy charge.
  • Just an update - I have managed to get a full refund from the credit card company! :T
I had to send them a letter from Pay-pal confirming that they could/would not investigate my claim as it was more thatn 45 days old. I also sent the bank copies of all the correspondance I received from the Insolvency Service and that was all the needed to uphold my claim. A full refund went back onto my card. Very happy with the bank :A...could still swing for Mr Moore .
  • same happened to me. booked and paid via Groupon. suddenly there was no car available for months, and then Adrian had to go to hospital so cancelled my rental. since then no reply to emails or calls (and Web sites now dead and number not taking messages). pretty nice scam, and Groupon facilitated this.
  • I guess none of us will get our money back from them. they even used Groupon to promote their offer to a massive audience. i tried and tried to schedule an available date, and it took me for ever to realize that it was never going to happen. so Groupon took a few hundred quid from me, kept half and sent the rest to the (retirement fund of) the Aston Experience founder. I guess it serves me right for trusting Groupon to audit the businesses they publicized. I just pinged their customer service, so let's see if they offer any kind of refund. I'm guessing it'll be a polite "not a penny, ever" response since they wouldn't want to accept any liability for the businesses they promote.
  • If anyone booked through Groupon / Livingsocial etc you should have no problem getting your money back. I booked through Livingsocial and my money was refunded straight away with no trouble at all when I explained the situation.

I don't know what to suggest for anyone that didn't pay via a 3rd party.....

I paid for extra mileage direct through the Aston Experience and luckily I also got this back. This was after the same as I keep reading - sob stories about Adrian being in hospital etc (even if true - what an unprofessional way to run a business). The way I managed to get my refund was to bombard them on twitter with screen shots showing they had been disolved as a company in 2011 (not just the recent 2012!!) and publicly warning anyone against using them. They didn't like this one bit and refunded me my oustanding monies. Unfortunately they have also now disappeared from Twitter.

I would just like to add to this thread... Searched companies house and found the address and thought I'd streetview it (Not being stalkerish)... But you can actually see the Aston on the back of a truck. For those that want to see its DE5 9FD in streetview and it shows the Aston Experience. Streetview that, and the car is over the road on the back of a truck.

    Here is the link
  • just found this site showing the bad experiences you all had, my wife got ripped off too for the sum of over 1k by The Aston Experience Ltd - now dissolved. I am looking into the possibility of opening a fraud prosecution against the director, too many similar excuses to us all. My wife luckily has correspondance in writing from him with these excuses on. I would be interested in any more information I can give/ receive as i have also lodged this with the Fraud Investigation Services/ Action Fraud with a crime number also registered which they are looking into. If i get enough of an interest from other people i would willingly set up a 'Action Against The Aston Experience' or 'Mr Adrian John Moore' web site that we could all get together to show there can be justice. My thoughts are this man should goto jail. Please dont think for a minute his company being dissolved will even inconvienience him. As a director of my own company i also know that just because its under a LTD banner doesnt mean you cannot be personally prosecuted for illegal trading once the company has gone. I question did this man ever have the tools to provide the service he was taking money for, my wife booked a car he didnt even have, know wonder he kept offering a Vantage in replacement. Lets get together and show this man he cannot run away from ripping people off, this is not the only company he has had and then dissolved!!!!
