  • I've been having problems with them since February - I had a voucher purchased for me in good faith through Groupon and I used it to book a car for March - all pretty simple and straightforward... until a couple of days before it was due - they cancelled, stating that there had been an administrative error and the car had been double booked.

I rebooked - for August - only to have the car cancelled the afternoon before delivery - they cited a damaged clutch therefore they were unable to honour the booking (they had some things to say about Groupon customers too!)

At this point they offered a refund - but I really wanted to hire the car - So I asked for a further date from them.

I got an email a couple of weeks later from Adrian's wife (supposedly) stating that Adrian was ill and in hospital - but I had been placed on a reserve list and that i should get the car soon - they would email me back with some dates.

    NOTHING !

I emailed them on 15 Nov asking for my 200 quid back

Not surprisingly, I've had no response....

I've raised a complaint with Consumer Direct at the OFT so that the ball is rolling in the background, meanwhile, I'll continue to send motivational emails to Adrian and his wife - not that they will ever respond....

If anyone is undertaking research regarding this company by checking out this site - - believe me, keep your money in your pocket, yes their website looks nice and yes, they have a posh head office address - but clearly it counts for nothing....

    Definite rogue traders.... sorry.

If you want an "Aston Experience" that won't cost you 200 quid (or more) drive to Birmingham via the M6 / A38M
  • Same problem here.

Paid them a lot of money. Tried to arrange a car.

No reply to phone, email, text.

The boss is apparently ill ... and I'm sick of waiting!

Credit card company not interested saying there's been no breach of contract ... yet !!!

    What ????
  • I've just done an internet search in desperation after paying £225 12 months ago and despite being promised a date I cannot now contact anyone and I found these threads posted. My emails are not being replied to and the telephone number listed on their very swanky website says that it isn't accepting incoming calls! I'm very worried about the whole credit card thing - I thought that was one of the main reasons for using a credit card to pay? Has anyone managed to contact them recently with a positive outcome?

  • The MD seems well enough to post here on the 9th of November!!:

Apparently I am not allowed to post links as I might be a spammer (I'm not) so either keep searching on Google until you find the above link or delete the gaps.

    :(

I will update on why section 75 of the consumer protection act doesn't seem to interest my credit card company!

  • Well am I glad I searched on Google for any complaints about this company! I was about to part with £1200 to Aston Experience. I have recently contacted them about hiring an Aston Martin, and have had no trouble what so ever getting in touch with Adrian (funny that)! Have received three emails and a phone call from him today. Needless to say, after reading on here, I'll look else where to hire an Aston Martin.

I'm sorry burner this probably isn't of help getting your money back.

I purchased a ladies driving experience from the Aston Experience for a wedding present.
To cut a very long story short in the days leading up to the expereince (Nov 2011) we were unable to get any phone or email response to confirm time etc. On the dat prior there was an answerphone message on their phone (Adrian's voice) saying that technical issues had closed their office for the day (and he quotes the date too). A mobile number was given for text message contact only. Contact with that number got a response claiming to be his wife saying Adrian was in intensive care having crashed the car the night before. A replacement was being sought through insurance. After a long text conversation such a car was not available, but they would be in touch to arrange a compensation package. Despite my texting and emailing and attempted phone calls (no answer) I haven't heard from them since.
I had paid using my Mastercard and used the chargeback system. I wrote a letter to the card company with details of everything and copies of all correspondance and last week heard that I've been refunded in full.

My advice is to avoid the Aston Experience
  • I know this thread has not been active now for a couple of months but I wonder whether any one has had any luck in getting their money back? I've had nothing but trouble with this company also - I hope anyone thinking of using them finds this thread and thinks otherwise! After paying for the experience in April 2011 I eventually got my money back a couple of weeks ago. However I received my refund through livingsocial so I was quite lucky that I booked through them rather than directly through The Aston Experience. I am however still trying to get the money back that I paid for extra mileage directly through the company.
  • The Aston Experience = No car.. no refund.. no apology
'Take it up with your credit card company' i was told!! customer service top notch... this company turns an 'Aston Experience' into a Nightmare!..
I'm hitting up twitter to warn off others.. love to see this bloke on Rogue Traders one day! Really !!!!ed off now...
  • Long time lurker, but this thread has poised me to actually make an account just so I can contribute to this thread an share my utter disbelief and story with "The Aston Experience" for the benefit of others.

If you are reading this with a view to rent from Adrian J Moore at The Aston Experience, do not take these tales lightly, my experience has uncanny resemblance to the other horror stories here and it WILL happen to you if you give him your money.
    • YES the prices appear cheap.
    • YES the website looks professional.
    • YES Adrian sounds like a caring/nice guy before he gets your money.
    BUT
    • NO you will not get your Aston Martin rental.
    • NO you will not get your refund.
    AND
    • YES you will make a very expensive mistake.
    • YES you will waste your life chasing a never materialising refund.
I paid a four (4) figure sum to Adrian J Moore (The Aston Experience) last year - three (3) months prior to the date I required the rental. A few days before my rental, I recieved an email stating the DB9 has been "damaged and abused" by the previous rentee and would I accept a Vantage instead with an early delivery to appologise, which I did. On it's way to be delivered, the Vantage was also allegedly involved in a crash and then became unavailable!! This is exactly the same story somebody else has experienced on another forum.

From this moment on, it was me doing the chasing with them trying to rectify the situation and salvage a car for the weekend, to which i was strung along with a web of lies about alternative cars, Adrian being ill and his wife taking over the office.

Since it was obvious I wasnt getting a car, I requested a refund, to which I have been strung along with further lies and stories (i.e. not being in the office, pretending to have sent emails that have got 'lost') delaying and stalling, but amounting to nothing. This was all via SMS from his wife Natalie (apparently) as Adrian has been sick (again?!). Not sick enough to be away from his Blackberry (he has sent me texts), but sick enough to not answer it when I phone.

Don't get me wrong, I have been very very polite and patient with them, giving them the benefit of the doubt and just thinking it was shear bad luck and he has been genuinely ill. But no more. this thread has taken away any empathy I did have.

I have been offered an appology (every SMS ends in "sorry again" - yeah right!!) and an alternative arrangement for a much longer time with unlimited mileage, but I have no faith in it actually materialising given my experience coupled with the stories above. Needless to say I quickly rejected the offer and reaffirmed my desire for a refund.

I was due to receive the refund on Monday 20th Feb, it is now the 24th and still no money!! This issue now sits with my bank.

I have since discovered the Aston Expereince was struck off as a company ages ago, all his testemonials are ancient. Adrian J Moore is nothing but a fraudster, a common thief operating nothing but a scam. DO NOT be taken in. I PROMISE you will be dissapointed. Definately a Rogue Trader.

I cannot believe the amount of others on here with the same story.
