Right click the task bar, click task manager, click file, click new task, copy and paste this

sc config spooler depend= RPCSS

Click OK

(note the space after the = but not before)

Nothing else, but black dialogue box flashed but didn,t open under task manager box

Click start, all programmes, accessories, with command prompt, if you right click it, is there a run as administrator option? If yes, click that then copy and paste this

sc config spooler depend= RPCSS

Then press enter

in black box got

Been back in to see if it,s on, doesn,t say started, didn,t try to pre-empt and start

I notice that link you gave , there was umpteen with the same problem.
Still not certain it will allow Lex to instal as the spooler only showed to be off yesterday.
That,s after several attempts to instal unsuccessfully without the spool error showing, but at least it,s one less step.

UPDATE santer, installed c/d successfully according to dialogue box.
However, and there,s always a but, It,s got everything except, no sign of a printer on network, and I get communication problem When I try anything to do with it. All cables are secure, re-booted twice, wouldn,t let me test print due to non communication.
I wonder whether a re-instal, after uninstal, OR. downloading drivers from the lex downloads the other day, before spooler ceased to function??? What do you think?
