Hi, I,ve just done that and haven,t got run anywhere on start menu. Wnen I type run in search, I get run box with search. Typed in services.msc
Nothing under that ERROR came up.
Are you on xp?
Print spooler is there on auto but blank under status which I presume is off, as one above is started.:beer:0 -
When you left click print spooler to highlight, then right click and click properties, is there an option to start or restart the service up on the left?0

Clicked to start;
Windows could not start Print Spooler service on Local computer.
ERROR 1068
The dependancy service or group failed to start.
1066To 1068
Soon be 1666 and on fire0 -
There is this, use task manager, file, new task, try the first bit and only use regedit if you are happy to, and make a back up first. Copy and paste will probably be easiest.
Resolution
To resolve the problem, fix the dependency information for the Spooler service.
Click Start, Run and type the following:
CMD /K SC CONFIG SPOOLER DEPEND= RPCSS
Alternately, to accomplish this using Registry Editor:
Click Start, Run and type Regedit.exe
Navigate to the following branch
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ Spooler
In the right-pane, double-click the DependOnService value
Delete the existing data, and then type RPCSS
Close Regedit.exe

When you are logged on, at the desktop, use task manager as before to get new task, then copy and paste this in
CMD /K SC CONFIG SPOOLER DEPEND= RPCSS
Click OK and post what happens, nothing can go wrong with the above, it will say success or something else.
If you are not used to running regedit, I wouldn't unless it was the absolute last resort, which it isn't, yet0 -
Hi, I,m at factory settings now, + the programs and updates windows. Registry is alien to me, but if I do something wrong, what,s the consequences? I haven,t a printer to copy instructions and c/p could try. Before I decide, what do you think? No onus on you.0
