In fact he thinks I'm getting bogged down with trying to do all the lists - he says I'm emptying and tidying cupboards that are perfectly tidy just because it's on the list, and he's probably right.

I'm unsure whether to leave the thread completely, or whether (Mr LW's suggestion) I should just note which room is to be done on a given day, and only do what actually needs doing in that room, no others. But I don't know, it feels like a cop-out to do that;:(

    Cop out blah blah blah...

My suggestion - which you can freely ignore, would be to draft your own list. I dont believe its a cop-out! I do it often and no-one on the thread has ever accused me of copping out!! Like Pigpen says - her lists are not 'MUST DOs' - they are only a guide.

I think your list should look something like this:
    • Make cups of tea/breakfast - pack Mr LW off to work - in whichever order youd rather :D
    • Sort breakfast dishes, wipe down counters and small appliances
    • Couple of hours Crafting.
    • Lunch
    • HH cleaning from your own list in one room of your choice (Jobs which you and Mr LW agree actually need to be done
    • Couple of hours Gaming
    • HH cleaning from your own list in either the same room or another room depending on what needs to be done (again - jobs which you and Mr LW agree on)
    • Dinner for you and Mr...
    • evening free for other hobbies/spending time with DH or fussing over furry visitors
    HTH and squishy hugs xx
ETA: Greenbee beat to me too it - see great minds think alike - a new list is the answer... :D

Dragon you haven't seen my Toots list - it's horrendous, BUT it now contains only tasks that I simply cannot do without Mr LW's assistance; the rest have been cleared.:o

I think I'm going to have a complete time-out the rest of the week, to try and get my head around everything - after I've made sure the loo has been scrubbed to my satisfaction, of course. Although Mr LW usually does a very good job.:o I just feel rotten asking him to do housework when he works full time.

Anyways, he's wfh tomorrow, so I wouldn't stand much chance of getting anything done in any case, as I'll have to do dins for midday (lasagne on the meal plan - it does 2 days, so will cover Friday, when he's on late shift) and also he needs virtually intravenous tea when he's wfh.:D

I think first order of business needs to be getting some sort of decent sleep pattern - I've started having a hot milky drink, which is great, but still I wake up at about 2am, stay awake til about 5 (the alarm goes off at 5:15) then can't stay awake during the morning, after Mr LW's gone to work.

Veggie bangers'n'mash tonight - spuds are already prepped and sitting in water (Mr LW did them last night) so just need to cook them and bung them in the FP to mash them. Onion gravy with Marmite, too, I think.:o

Thank you all for the support - hey, I'm doing better than when I first joined Flylady, when I'd try and clean the entire bungalow in one day and then spend the rest of the week flat on my back and no use to man nor beast!:D

  • LW (((hugs))) as pigpen says you have been told before to stop trying to do so much but you dont want to listen do you? In your condition you should not be taking all day cleaning - I like xxJoxx's list for you - you are only fit to keep the place tidy not do proper housework and the sooner you realise and accept this the better- I know its hard (have been there) - i know that sounds harsh but you are also putting extra strain and work on Mr LW - IMHO you really need to find some way of having a cleaner- that will take a huge effort on your part to have someone else in your house but surely it could be organised for the days when MrLW is at home and you could hide in your bedroom until they have gone - it need only be 1/2 hours but they would achieve what you are trying to do all week!!! and maybe you could learn to accept them and find their presence acceptable even enjoyable.
If you are not killing yourself doing housework you will have time for hobbies and more relaxed time with your woofs and DH - less stress for you and maybe that too will help your sleep.
I can hear you saying its impossible - its not - if you put your mind to it you will find a solution - you accept the dog lady coming to the house - how did that start - you had to accept her coming. You go out to your meetings and meet people - some of them might have a cleaner you can borrow - you say you dont like asking Dh to do things well this is a fine chance to change that for his benefit. and think of all the things that could be struck of the toots list if you had someone in. You can do this.

G&B your new puddy is gorgeous - does Newton like her?

xxJoxx what placement? what are you going to be doing? and is it back here? and does that mean I might get to meet up again????
    have missed you honey xx
    Peace will be mine

LW big big hugs, i don't think i've completed one list in at least a year. :o and the only thing wrong with me is i'm lazy...:rotfl:

My head is so flipping sore, so painkillers to be took, then chippie feed and bed early..:(

OH and me will do some flying later which is badly needed.
I can't get to the wm because there is too much in the room.
I can't cook dinner because i didn't put the dw on earlier so no dishes plus the worktops are covered with rubbish and bits and bobs. (DW on now and will need a second load).
So that is 2 things that need sorted tonight and then bed. This cold/sore head better leave me soon as i'm sick of feeling so crap.

Thank you for being so open, i feel better having read this, not so tough on myself today! x
    :)getting there slowly

I think he does. They are still a little wary of each other but its early days. They are happy to share a windowsill to sleep which is fairly encouraging. There has been no hissing today:)

GnB - I was impressed they were sat that close on their first day together. If they really didn't like each other then you would know. My older two hate GeorgeDDT with a passion sadly - she arrives, they leave.

LW - Hope you sort something that works for you, huge hugs.

    Toots

Today a BR has been changed into a store room and dedicated study area for DH which will contain some of his mess. In turn this has cleared the junk room that is DS2s BR to be, and our ensuite to be. Much positive progress :j

My contribution? I went to work, cooked dinner, filled DW, made iced finger buns, and put our bedding in WM. Just need to sort uniforms for the morning and sort packed lunches.

  • Piggers, thank you. I shall keep your offer in mind :)

She has tried on her new trousers over her knee brace today and they look big, but OK.

She came out with me today to get stationery and nearly passed out in WHSmiths. A huge thank you to the manager, who spotted her waver and was there with one of the dalek stools before she hit the deck :(. I think it was a mixture of tiredness, pain and lack of food, so I took her off for a hugely expensive milkshake straight afterwards.

Eventually got some food shopping, bought her the essential skull candy headphones [rolls eyes but hands over money anyway as PE kit is not necessary at present] and then dropped into the local Goth shop, where the lovely girls helped her choose small enough gauge titanium labret studs to use in her ears so that she keeps to the school requirement of plain studs, but doesn't have to put up with the irritations of butterfly backs and the like.

She has now been in the bath for at least an hour. So the bath should be clean, at any rate. And the floor will have been soaped rather well, too. I may have to go and rescue her soon.

In the time she has been up there, I have

    Emptied the bins
    Cleaned the cat tray _pale_
    Mopped the shower room floor
    Put towels into WM
    Put all the shopping away
Cleaned up crap, wrappers and gibble from where she has been sitting watching telly
Sent a box filled with her shoes, gibble, junk and tat up to her room
    Put potatoes in oven
    Loaded DW
Swept cat hair into mini whirlwinds before disposing of it

I have, however, not felt up to vacuuming, washing up, wiping down counters, taking my clean washing upstairs and putting it all away, vacuuming upstairs, changing bedlinen or anything else I probably could do if my feet weren't screaming for mercy and I wasn't starting a RA flare. Sod it. It's better than it was four hours ago.

SO, LW (AND YES, I AM SHOUTING - MINION'S MUSIC IS AT EARBLEEDING LEVELS CURRENTLY :D) JUST LET IT GO!!!!!

So you can't do everything - sod it. Neither can I. Big deal.

Yes, people are useless when they have no idea what things are like. But they have to make you jump through the metaphorical hoops (after all, real ones aren't exactly feasible :)) so that they can say x, y and z have all been tried, so a, b and c could be tried.

I would also ask the GP to refer you to someone who actually has an interest in their patients. PALS at the hospital could help with this as well. A Lupus specialist sounds like a plan - CFS? Did he not check you had Lupus?

(Oh, and perhaps they could give you your ESR and CRP levels that should have been taken to assess the level of inflammation? Just in case they would suggest steroids or suchlike.) I'd also ask whether you ever had Lupus antibody tests or Russell Viper Venom tests to establish whether there are antiphospholipid issues (sticky blood/Hughes syndrome) as they can be associated with depression, too.

Perhaps even scraping together the cash for a private referral to a rheumatologist for another opinion? Often you can go, and explain that you can't afford additional private tests, but the consultant will be much nicer as a rule and will happily get you on their NHS lists immediately afterwards and come up with very useful suggestions for your GP.

but, whatever you are able to do, DON'T STRESS ABOUT THE NET CURTAINS!!!!!!!! :D
