I've been sorting out the wardrobe that holds my presents and making a list of what I've got for everyone. I'm going to put the kids' presents in a binbag each for DH to put up the loft at the weekend out of the way. I'm also going to wrap some of DS's birthday presents. Washing's on the line even though it keeps threatening to rain and will probably start without me realising it. Just about to put another load in the WM and then I'm having a jacket for my lunch.NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

Well, yesterday was a total and utter waste of my time and energy.
The Psych nurses first of all wanted me to list all the meds I've had over the years (um.... I can remember some, but I never even knew the names of others, and in any case, I can't remember what I was prescribed in 1972).
We then went through all the old territory....
Is there history of mental illness in your family (I don't know) *shrug*
Are your parents still alive (I know my father's dead, no idea about my mother)
Did your father drink? (No, he wasn't an alcoholic, just an abusive tyrant - he didn't need alcohol to send him off on one!):(
Were you sexually abused as a child (Yes - that's why the Judge agreed to keep my address off the court papers when I divorced KH)
Do you have any friends? (No, I don't have the social skills necessary to make friends)
And a whole load of other stuff....
All this AFTER I'd told them it's the "here and now" I can't hack, that I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired, and basically I Want Out!!:(:(:(:(:(
They then twitted on about a Carer's Assessment - (um.... Mr LW's my carer, and he spoke up and said HE didn't need assessing:eek:) Oh, we can send someone in to get you up and dressed (NO, NO, NO!!! I am NOT having strangers invading my house:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: What a thing to suggest to someone who's scared to go out the front of the house in case the neighbours are outside). Oh, and if Mr LW ever wants an assessment in the future, he can self-refer (Um.... OK, we'll take that under advisement).
I finally got through that all I'm after is a tweak of my meds, as there's nothing else the GP can give me, and she was only sending me there on the offchance that a "specialist" would know of something I can take alongside my current anti-d or else switch to without the couple of weeks of no anti-d's which you normally have to endure when changing meds, and which I honestly don't think I'd survive. (All of which was in her referral letter, to start with). *rolleyes*
And I don't want everything doing for me, I want to be able to do it myself!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:
Anyways, they then decided they want me to see a higher-up bod. (No men, says we, I can't deal with men) Oh, Dr S is a man (NO!!):eek::eek::eek::eek:Oh, well, we can get a woman to see you, but it'll only be a junior doctor (Fine - junior is OK with me, as long as it's a woman) Are you sure you won't see Dr S? (Which bit of NO MEN didn't you get?):mad::mad::mad::mad:
So we have to wait for an appointment - and they have strict instructions, if they phone again, to call Mr LW's number, not mine.
So that was that.....
Rheumy appointment next... she starts asking me what meds I'm taking, I'm part way through telling her, and her mobile rings. She takes the call (about 10 minutes) then proceeds to tell me my bloods are OK, she's stopping my Plaquenil, there's nothing anyone can do for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (first time this phrase has actually been applied to me) and to go away and "just cope". I didn't even get to finish telling her my current meds!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:
How on earth am I supposed to "just cope" (her exact words)???:(:(:(:(:(
So today I'm totally exhausted, depressed beyond what even I thought possible, and really feel no-one gives a flying fig about what I want.
Flying is, I fear, impossible today, I'm so shaky on my feet. Mr LW has said he'll scrub the loo when he gets home, which is really nice of him, but of course I feel a failure because that should be my job, as I'm here all day.:(
In fact he thinks I'm getting bogged down with trying to do all the lists - he says I'm emptying and tidying cupboards that are perfectly tidy just because it's on the list, and he's probably right.
I'm unsure whether to leave the thread completely, or whether (Mr LW's suggestion) I should just note which room is to be done on a given day, and only do what actually needs doing in that room, no others. But I don't know, it feels like a cop-out to do that;:( as if I'm not doing sufficient. But at present, I'm spending all my active time doing housework, and still scratching about to finish the lists when I need to be starting to get dinner ready; I don't get any time for anything else, like reading, or RPG gaming, or crafts - and even if I'd time, I have no energy for them.:(
So, right now, I'm fed up, exhausted, feel like there's an entire litter of BDs biting me, and just don't know the best way to proceed.:(
Heh - told you it was a major rant.:cool:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
LW - sorry it was so horrible. Hopefully the junior doctor will be able to help and will be a bit more sympathetic.
As for the CFS, write to your GP if you don't want to call them and ask when this diagnosis was made and what literature they can provide you with about it
hopefully that will shut them up... I suspect that a lot of the effects of lupus result in CFS-like symptoms, just due to the nature of the condition.
However, you need to be clear - none of us do stuff on the list if it doesn't need doing, so how about making your first task when you get the list to work out what you don't need to do
and then you can plan how to manage the stuff that really needs doing, and possibly the stuff you'd like to do but isn't urgent. 0 -
LW - this is for you - please feel free to ignore me - most people do!
First of all you can have a big hug - know you wouldn't want one off me but Jerry will give you lots of licks!
Secondly the lists - now the idea of the lists is so you have some time to yourself to do the things you want to do - that means you do so much and then STOP! Bear in mind that piggers does the lists and she has a houseful so her house and mine and most houses with more than 2 people get messy very quickly and need sorting and cleaning all the time. You have only you and Mr LW - that means that half of the things on the list don't need doing or at least only once a month or something. Besides which the lists are there as a guide - they're not orders - I'd have been shot a long time ago.
Thirdly - we like hearing what's happening in your household and your doggie visitors - you can have a special dispensation if you like the same as Toots and LL to just post without flying - but we want you to keep posting.
Fourthly - is there such a word? - we're your friends and although you don't like face-to-face contact - we're your online friends and are here to support you as much as you let us.
Finally - if you do disappear we'll have to bring the flylady bus to visit you and that will be scarier than anything!!
Love

HUGE, ginormous fluffy hugs for you lamewolf:( I cant begin to imagine how you feel. It must be so frustrating to have these people not listen to you properly.
As for flying, i think your suggestion of just finding out what the room is and doing what actaully needs done is a good one. To be honest it is quite often what i do. There is no point wasting what little energy you have that day doing something that doesnt actually need done just because some random person miles away from you who cant see your house or what needs done puts it on a list! (No offence meant piggers:o)
Have a day of from flying and do something that YOU enjoy, like your crafts or reading etc.
If you disappear from this thread we will come looking for you... I love reading your posts LW:AThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

I have thought for a long time that you were doing far more of the lists than many flyladies and some of it must be getting done just because it was on the list. Mr LW is right!0 -
LW~ just ignore the lists, they DO NOT rule your life, do the bit that need major doing and leave the rest, end off, no need to get all worked up over it, MrLW is right, do the bit you need to and forget them, I know I do when time runs out.
Hope the female dr works out ok. (((hugs)))
