Hi all, flying wise, I've hung two loads of washing out this morning and emptied my car rubbish into a bag and disposed of it.

I also wiped down the tea/coffee area which was horrid.

Personal wise I'm pleased to announce that DD2 has had her casts taken off her feet today and her kirschner wire pulled out without a wince from herself. Myself and hubby who watched the pliers and the yank winced a lot.....oooooouuuuuccchhhhhhh, but apparently not, as its driven in the bone and feels no pian...looks very impressive though.
So she's now got to wear splints for 6/8 weeks, no sports or PE but we're on the way to normal feet. They also look very, very small.

Focussed on getting the clean laundry pile down that DH created last week. Also WMx1. Ironed a couple of things and bagged some baby clothes DS has just outgrown to pass on to a friend.

Feels much better in the kitchen now as the laundry was piled on the ironing board and the mountain was bigger than I was. Very overwhelming, just one large basket to go.

    :)

    Hi - I'm back again!

Jojo I have absolutely no idea what tests have actually been performed - the rheumy in question is the same woman who diagnosed the lupus; I rather suspect they're on an economy drive, and withdrawing drugs to save money. But I've never, ever been told exactly what my tests were for, or any results, just that they're now "OK, nothing untoward has shown up". And of course, I'm far too much of a wuss to demand information.:( Oh, and she also wants to discharge me into just the care of my GP - more money-saving, I reckon.

Ooh, and how do labret studs work? I had a look online, but couldn't fathom how they're better than butterfly backs (a bit dense at this time of the evening, if I'm honest) - I ask because I too get irritation from butterfly backs, with the second hole in my left ear regularly weeping and going peculiar, even though it was pierced several years ago now, and I wonder if these labret studs would work for me.:o

We do have a Flying bit to report:D - Mr LW has thoroughly scrubbed to loo. I haven't inspected, but if he says it's gleaming, then I'm absolutely certain it is.:A

We're currently in the throes of kicking TalkTalk into touch - they've p1ssed us off just once too often, so we're switching.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • LW Im another who thinks you do way to much and should follow a very gentle list that is heavy on the relaxation and pottering doing fun stuff and gentle on the flying. You put everyone on here to shame with what you manage to get done yourself, let alone what Mr LW does for you off the list.

Would it be worth getting a cleaner for a couple of hours a month even to give the place a good going over and you and Mr LW go somewhere and do something fun or pop into town to do some errands whilst that happens and that way you can concentrate on a quick once over when you feel it needs it and have more time to spend on yourself.

I really do think you should take a step back from the lists and agree with Mr LW each week what your going to do that week and what he is going to do as well. so one week the main task might be dusting, the next week the main task might be cleaning windows etc, but you do it bit by bit through the week, so bedroom one day, living room the next etc. and join in and post your list and update that way rather than following pigpen's master list.

pigpens list its useful when you are starting out and the house is an absolute mess, but what im finding like GnB is that i can ignore bits on there that dont need doing, i try not to ignore the list as im bone idle so for me its easier to stick to the lists or attempt to for the most part as that way i know things get done and it remains visitor ready.

I have got downstairs fully sorted out, my cupboards and freezer are organised and my living room has NO gibble or hotspots as it gets cleared away each night following Valli's dont put it down put it away method so i know with a quick wipe and hoover round both the living room and kitchen can be sorted. upstairs is a different matter and im trying to keep to the lists but within the next month or two I will have upstairs organised as well so that it will only take a quick once over to have things put right and i cant imagine your house is messy by any stretch of the imagination. so PLEASE listen to your body, Mr LW and the other ladies on here and cut back and have more you time and less flying time.
  • LW - dont worry, if i was you id just do the essentials. like others have said, its only a guide do what you feel you're able to and make time for yourself.. :) i hope your ok. i havent done anything on the list this week apart from essentials ie, washing up, laundry and getting OH to sweep the floors. i just havent had the energy. i fully understand how you feel, :(. but dont worry yourself i know its easier said than done but you have a lovely bunch of friends on here. i hope you are feeling better.

hope everyone else is well, hugs for everyone that needs or wants one im off to bed in a minute. just going to declutter my cuppa then im going to say sorry to my bed and hope it will let me climb back in after the way i left it this morning the apology is needed !! x

  • Hi all

    Healing/soothing vibes to LW

Flying wise not done much, just put a load in WM - went to my dad's for tea so not back til late.

About to continue knitting my throw (probably do that in bed).

Hoping to have an undisturbed sleep tonight. Have something (actually it's someone :o) on my mind, very trivial compared to some of the flyladies problems but a bit of a big deal to me as my OH passed away 18 months ago and this person is the first person since then that I have feelings for. It's all very confusing/frustrating as he is only back in the country for 2 weeks (working abroad until March next year) and said he would try to come and see me (his family live 150+ miles away) but I've not heard from him since he arrived back. I'm too scared to tell him how I feel, but at the same time don't want to waste anymore time as life is short!! Gah

Tomorrow a major frog will start commencement - kitchen will start to be decorated - 6 weeks after the new units were fitted.

Positive, supportive vibes to all x

If we're having a competition for who has done least I think I'll probably win :p I have done NOTHING off the lists. I'm working on avoiding making mess but I'm certainly not getting anything clean. I haven't even cleaned the loo (tip for mr LW - put disinfectant down it last thing every night and don't flush till morning, and it won't need scrubbing very often)

LW - you should know what tests have been done, so either ask your GP for access to your records, or talk to some (JoJo might be a good start) from a support group of some kind about the questions you should ask. You can write them down, and give them the choice of giving you the information there and then or providing a response in writing within a week.

I'm lucky - my consultant is fantastic. The one before however.... Best not to say. Although some people like im, so I guess personality comes into it too. Remember, your GP can always refer you back to the consultant (or a different one) at any time if she feels it's appropriate, so being discharged doesn't make any difference really. It just means they're not going to book another appointment as routine, they'll wait until someone asks them too.

As JoJo says, you can always try the private route if you want more time with the consultant (and nicer waiting rooms). And if you do that you can refer yourself, although you may want to talk to your GP about who she'd recommend. She may decide, if she realises how concerned you are, to refer you to someone else anyway for a second opinion. Given what came up, it sounds as if you need to talk to your GP about the CFS comment at the very least.

Jo i've still got some boxes left from my move in the shed if you want them? They're the proper strong ones. OH took most of them but i've still got about 6 i think, i'll have a look tomorrow when it's light.
  • I'm in. I badly need a routine, I don't clean more than monthly which is foul I know. Luckily there is only me here so I create minimal mess. I don't do clutter or hoarding so I have no excuse.

    Wish me luck :)
