oh and ive told her to her face I think shes stupid, and a liar...so I actually have the balls to tell that person, so nothings being said behind her back.
However you should always remain professional & dignified.
My favourite manager at work is someone I would never be around in my social time, but they get the results I'm after.
How old are you & your colleague if you don't mind me asking?Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -

They sound like they are possibly in there early twenty's, I just find it strange if the OP is scared of her co-worker as per message in #44 how did she manage to tell her in her face that she is stupid and a liar!!!!It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0 -

I too cannot see the whole story due to the edits but can piece bits together.
Op - there will always be collegeaues that don't get on, but if she threatened you that needs reporting to your managers. If she is endangering the children go above the managers, anonomous call to OFSTED or the like - my son goes to nursery and if he was in danger I'd want something doing asap! you owe a duty of care to those children to take care of them.0 -
OP, I don't think you've done anything wrong, and I think a lot of the people here are being incredibly aggressive and argumentative for no reason.
I'm new on this forum, and I've been lucky to get advice from some really lovely and helpful people, and I'm hugely grateful. But I have also had one or two who seem hell bent on picking your story apart and looking for any little thing to be negative about, which is ridiculous but it's the internet and the perfect place for insignificant people like that to pretend they are much more important on here than they are in real life.
I read your thread from the start but didn't reply because I have no proper advice for that situation (even though plenty of people here seem to be replying just to cause an e-fight rather than give you any constructive advice...) however from my understanding (and from what I remember as you have now edited each post), you work with someone who isn't pulling their weight and has been taking the p*** for a long time, including being late and taking long breaks leaving you without one, as well as behaving badly in front of the children and because of this you have been getting fed up and "blankly" looked at her when she came in with her sister (who shouldn't have been there), which has now caused her to threaten you.
I fail to see how any of that is your fault, or why people are calling you a troublemaker for speaking up! I wouldn't want her working with me either if she was treating me like that, I don't see why people here are treating you like this at all. It's completely uncalled for.
This thread is full of members who are even going through your other posts (How is this relevant?!) trying to find holes in your story, absolutely pathetic.0 -

Oh come on, taking a thread on an internet forum that seriously when you have nothing to do with the situation mentioned is completely over the top.
Especially when her other posts are not relevant to this topic (example: her taking a sick day off. Really? Necessary?). People are not checking her other posts looking for a background on the situation because they care at all, they are merely doing it to find something to pick at and make their selves feel important while doing so. Any fool can do that, but why would they want to? If you don't feel you have anything of importance to add to a thread other than picking holes, then why bother?0 -

Didn't need to check her posts - the OP was memorable! And I would point out that her colleague allegedly did these things. Since you have read the posts which others here can no longer do, perhaps you noticed her keep adding more and more fuel every time somebody pointed out to her that you do not tell your employers who to employ and who not to employ? Or her describing her colleagie as "too thick to use the internet". It is obvious that the OP deeply dislikes this person and wants her sacking - she has said so. That does not make her right. If the employer has chosen to do nothing, when the OP has previously herself said that the employer is something of a stickler - maybe there is a reason?0 -
Well - I'm only sorry that I went out for Sunday lunch and missed all the (now deleted) posts. That'll teach me to eat at weekends.
One thing that did register with me (and I'm not trying to 'pick fault') is that the OP has been in this position for one year and her colleague for five years (am I correct..?). It also appears that the OP (from what she's said) has been complaining about her colleague since she started this job, which can't be very comfortable for the colleague (think about it from colleague's point). Also, the OP 'comes across' as despising this woman (not one redeeming quality) - I imagine also the colleague has picked up on the fact that the OP believes herself to be superior to her.
As other posters have said, it isn't a healthy environment for young children to be in. And if the colleague is 'throwing things', then they are in danger too. If this is the case, (and it was reported) then I'd think your employers have a duty of care to investigate.0
