    Xmas Saver!
SEveral of these at Brent park. SEL 4.97, scans at 24+. C/S went to verify and was gone somewhile, when she returned I was told that the SEL was for a different item. As the packaging and receipt descriptions are hard to reconcile it was unrealistic to argue the case. I think we both knew that this was the case but she had been told to claim otherwise by a manager.

I know its not easy, but this is the point where you have to stand your ground, act like you know about the toys and blame Tesco for not clearly labelling everything up, that it is clearly obvious that a tiny little peice of plastic should not be £25 and they have obviously made a mistake. Can they call anyone at head office to help clarify things.

This should then lead to HO authorising DTD.

Of course be V polite whilst doing all this!

I also wondered how they can give you DTD on the phone, what if you were dishonest and got it from the store as well, notsaying you are obviously

They spoke to the store in question, and also asked for the receipt number on my receipt. The lady was lovely about it all, and it was her who apologised on the stores behalf, and then offered me the DTD gift card.

I'm not sure how it works if people were dishonest about DTD. I think that's why they ask for the receipt number, so they ask the store themselves to see how it was dealt with? HTH :)
I hate twitches, but I LOVE glitches!!!

I was given the remaining DTD I was refused when I phoned CS. I had 2 identical items but the store would only offer 1 DTD and JTD for the 2nd one. I phoned CS and the apologised profusely and said they'd send out a gift card. I had to push them to take the store details and they certanly didn't ask for receipt details.

Sometimes I'm surprised Tesco haven't pulled their DTD policy when people seem to go into Tesco purely to come out with a massive profit - I understand the policy's use for genuine mistakes but alot of people seem to take advantage of it.

And another one rears its head.

*Sigh* if Tesco could actually get their pricing correct then there would be no need for DTD. No other supermarket offers it because no other supermarket makes as many mistakes as Tesco. I like to take advantage of their policy that allows them to rip us off and compensates us if we spot it. Alls fair in love and war :D

Well I would be lying if I hadn't made the occasional use of DTD - yesterday I got a couple of quid back as something went through the till wrong. Great, made the standing in the customer services queue for 5 minutes vaguely worth it. However, I think strolling into a store and buy a couple of items (in this case the toy) to make a £80 ish profit is a bit rich.
  • Couldn't agree with you more...Tescos are overcharging millions of people each year.....can anybody tell me how long it takes for customer services to investigate a refusal of dtd??? I sent my e mail on Sunday evening recieved a notification Monday and nothing since ...house phone not working or I would phone.....
