Fair enough, the benefits cheats was a bit out of line, but I am glad you agree with the fact that people shouldnt be stripping shelves to make lots of cash.[/QUOT

If you are referring to my earlier post - I didn't say I agreed with you that people shouldn't be stripping shelves to make lots of cash! I just said I had 'reservations' about stripping shelves - which is not quite the same ! I prefer to keep my exact views on that topic to myself as I have no wish to sit in judgement on others.

Each to his own - we all have different standards, feelings, lines in the sand, moral guidelines etc and, personally, I can find far more important things to get worked up over than worrying about whether Jo Bloggs managed to make a good profit out of Tesco errors!

Sorry can I just ask again:

Did the cheap SEL have the barcode on it for the expensive item? The only store I found these in had the SEL saying Bakugan Boost and a price of £3.97 but the wrong barcode. The SEL for £24.97 had a description of Brawler set and the barcode for the single item pack.

Should this have warranted a DTD? Not bothered about trying again but the store was adamant that because the barcode was on the SEL the price was correct.

caz i worked that whole thing out for myself before purchasing them coz i was ready for the retaliation from cs staff. I must admit i was gutted that i wasn't going to get a dtd. never mind the next one is round the corner xxxxxxxxx

Yes, mine did. However, I would argue that it is the description that should count in your case. The item purchased is not a brawler set, which has 5 or more of these little ball things in quite a large box. This is a boost set, as it has bakuBooster written on the packet. So regardless of the barcode, they have stuffed up with the description and you should have DTD.

That just means they have the description wrong there too!

Toy r Us list them differently.

If it was me, I would email Tesco Cust services and explain that the description of the item is wrong and that you should have DTD.

They're still going through at £24.97 in Tesco Bangor, HOWEVER, two ladies at customer services both said that the toy was in fact that price and it was other ones that were the cheaper price! So I just asked for a refund as I really couldn't be bothered to argue with them :(

Same in Bangor NI. Staff here are adamant that these wee things are £25. As much as I'd love a nice profit there's better DTDs for me personally so I'll pick my battles for the essentials. Don't want to burn my bridges before I get some more stuff for my new pad. Almost there but wouldn't say no to a spare iron, a Foreman Grill or a toaster! Gosh, it's almost the end of the offers so roll on Wednesday!
  • not sure this is quite right is it? :A

If you have kept the items at the true price of say 3.97 each then you have PAID 2 x £24.97 ie £49.94 got back £84 ( £21 doubled x 2 ) :Tso you have a NET profit £ 34.06 only :T plus the 2 items or £42 if you returned the item after the DTD payment at the original cost.

that's right innit but well done anyway.

hope you remembered to use the £5 of £50 spend coupon too !:D

I think if you used the coupon it would show that you knew what price they were going to go through the till at

100% correct.... what i did (and usually do) is work out how much i should be getting back and do my shopping accordingly.

I got two of these blitters on Sunday and my total shop can to £83.59.

Paid £24.97 each for them instead of £3.97 each so got 2 lots of double the difference back of £21.00... total back £84.00.

Tesco paid me 41p to do my shopping that was worth £83.59 - £49.94(2 blitters).

Which makes £33.65 free shopping an 41p in the bank.

Thank you very much Mr T. Net profit of £34.06 as stated in previous post

I don't think this glitch is for me, all thd bakugan toys look the flipping same to me, popped in on my way home from work hoping 3rd time round I might be able to get my head round which it is!!!!!

Nope! No way, will have to take my 3 year to give me a hand next time
Had to console myself with some free jellies instead!

  • Trouted today. Massively. An email has been fired off to Philip Clarke. It wasn't just one of these toys, I was genuinely overcharged by, wait for it, £165 on ONE item! If I get a positive response by email, of course I'll post details of the item here, but until then, I'm keeping quiet.

    Bloody trouts.

Ooooh I need to know! I miss out on everything on here! lol
