Hi all - I'm in favour benefiting from glitches, and I don't see this as stealing whatsoever. In fact, its a rather enterprising way of boosting your income! Wish I'd known of it sooner.
Now, I haven't done it myself (as I've only just found this wonderful thread/forum, but I certainly will be having a go! Can anyone more experienced explain how to do this clearly?
Say for example i buy a toy that says £3.97 on shelf, get charged £24.99. Do you leave the store, leave a bit of time so it looks like you've gone home and found a price error on your bill (does this time lapse matter?), and then once you go back to the store/cs, how does the discount work, do you still pay £24.99 for the toy, but get £42 back? If so, then the profit is only £17.01. Is this correct?0 -
theres no way that would last.. few calls to head office and the manager will be getting a bollocking..
dtd saves tesco loads of money and bad publicity so why would they jeopardise it ...0 -
That's pretty much it, Hardball.0

They're still going through at £24.97 in Tesco Bangor, HOWEVER, two ladies at customer services both said that the toy was in fact that price and it was other ones that were the cheaper price! So I just asked for a refund as I really couldn't be bothered to argue with them0

That's pretty much it but no need to leave the store you can go straight to customer service as if you have just noticed the mistake on your receipt. As others have posted and as seems to get forgotten DTD is by no means certain and you shouldn't expect it. Just gratefully take it if offered and as long as your nice and polite they should do it anyway. If you don't... well nothing lost so move on and wait for the next glitch0 -

I had to argue the desciption with mine, as the pcket on the DTD ones say BakuBooster, whilst the £24.99 SEL says Battle pack (or something similar) so argued that as the SEL says Booster Pack, regardless of barcode on it it related to that item.
It is confusing with these toys, as I have never paid any attention to them and would never buy my kids this kind of overpriced rubbish*.
*though will admit to buying them other overpriced rubbish when they flutter their eyelashes at me, cos thats what Dads do when their daughters give them THAT look.0 -

Sorry can I just ask again:
Did the cheap SEL have the barcode on it for the expensive item? The only store I found these in had the SEL saying Bakugan Boost and a price of £3.97 but the wrong barcode. The SEL for £24.97 had a description of Brawler set and the barcode for the single item pack.
Should this have warranted a DTD? Not bothered about trying again but the store was adamant that because the barcode was on the SEL the price was correct.
caz i worked that whole thing out for myself before purchasing them coz i was ready for the retaliation from cs staff. I must admit i was gutted that i wasn't going to get a dtd. never mind the next one is round the corner xxxxxxxxxlost 9 stone since Feb 2011
