H, this is my first post. I managed to get a flip camcoder for £20, dell netbook for £99.00 and a HP laptop for £134.00. I used the self scanners and everything I scanned showed at the normal prices but when I asked the checkout staff to scan them they came u at the above reduced items. Just thought I would share this with everyone. Good luck with your bargain hunting !!

how is that possible? surely both are hooked upto the same system instore?

It depends what size the TV is, 15.6" to 23.6" are usually in fixture. TV's 26" and above and generally kept in secure warehouses or bonds. It is at store discretion whether they will get one out for you or not. My store will and but I know of stores locally who do not allow their night teams into the high value areas at night

If they are out on the shop floor, just like any ordinary products then yes. Which will be most Small Domestic Appliances, health and beauty electrical items and possibly some securely boxed up cameras. Most extra stores will have some TV's tagged and out on the shop floor as well.

Night Staff shouldnt access any items locked up elsewhere and you'll have to wait until the Electrical Desk opens to access these.

Many thanks for that. Yes, the one we want was out on the shop floor. LOL ONce he's made his mind up he wants something, can't wait. Also afraid they will sell out.

Can you put a laptop and a TomTom to one side for me please?:D
  • In my local store, the peeps behind the desk are very helpful, and some of the new laptops coming in are actually cheaper than some of the old ex displays they sell with 10% off. Apparantly all these bargains are to rid stores of excess 'old' stock, and my local store has very little left, although today I saw 2 customers buy 2 Toshiba netbooks for £99 each, and another small netbook for £49!! I managed to grab a few bargains last week, but there is very little left, and deliveries into stores are NOT the bargain stuff. The staff were telling me few labels were coming off for these reductions, because most are discontinued, and not set up for a label. They don't know what is reduced either, so they are scanning everything in sight too. Good luck to them I say, they must put up with some s**t from the public, I hope they manage to get a few bargains too.
I wonder if that was me and a friend * hello* if it was, I found the electrical staff v helpful!!! I will be back in tomorrow as my netbook is password protected!! Ex-display??? Cheers ;)

ive seen quite a few white SEL's in my local with a star * in the left corner..... does this mean they will scan cheaper?

we dont have a price checker so its a case of keep asking at cs.
Not always. I would say perhaps 95% or more will be the price displayed on the shelf, and suspect CS will get annoyed by the time you find a bargain - or more likely tell you shelf price is correct. Your best bet is to target items previously posted and ensure you have the exact model/colour/barcode etc and target those items.
Wanted a job, now have one.
