Panther1967 is correct, all of this stock is discontinued and stores will not receive deliveries of this stock. The sale stock is whatever they have in their warehouses from various range changes. Toys, Computing, Homeshop, Personal Electrical and Audio/Visual have all recently been remerchandised so bargains should be available in all of those areas0

I was discussing this with one of the Tesco staff yesterday but they said candidly that because of glitches in the past most Tesco staff are well equiped with electrical goods and don't need any moreWanted a job, now have one. :beer:0

Can anyone clarify what the rules are with regards to selling display stuff? ie can, and should, staff refuse to sell display stuff, even when it's a discontinued line?0

After we paid, the security man caught us and said we are not allowed to get into the store any more, and what else we are not allowed to get into any Mr T store, because they keep a record, and if the camera see us they call the police and we will be arrested for trespass. I asked why, and he said they know I go to Mr T often and checking the prices to get DTD. I had 2-3 DTD all together, one of them was a bigger DTD in that store, but I didn't go for it, I went to find cheap electrical items. My husband said they can't do it, but I don't know. Can they?
Tesco do have the right to ban you from their stores. It is their property and they can refuse entry and to sell you any item. I would not take the word of a security guard though to be quite honest! He obviously thinks he's a little God and has more power than he actually has.
Go into the store and have a word with the store manager (not the duty manager) and explain what has happened. I would think the security guard will put in his place and you'll probably get an apology! Stay calm and polite, obviously!Keep SmilingSite member number 24

Potentially it could have been a reduced laptop. The SEL was most likely taken by another customer, this happens all the time or could have been removed by staff. However saying that, our pricing doesn't always make sense for example in my store I have a Sony Vaio Intel Dual Core 1.6ghz 4GB 320GB HDD laptop that is £549 but I also have a Acer I5 2.4ghz 6GB 750GB HDD for £499
I think you have just inadvertently come up with Tescos new catchphrase!0 -
So do the offers run throughout the night?0

@ whizkid001
The sale of ex-display items can vary from store, but the general rule is that display models should only be sold when an item is discontinued and the items stock end date has passed and we have confirmed that the item is not in our range. The item should then be sold with a 10% ex-display discount that store receives back as a credit from Head Office, but this is it the discretion of the store0 -
@ KK9000
Yes offers do run through the night0 -

If you want one and if the store has them you will have to ask at an Electrical Desk (in Extra format stores) or speak to a member of the Tesco Tech team. Also the majority of Electrical Desks do not open until 9am (Mon-Sat) and 10am (Sun) and staff do not start until then so there won't be anyone to ask at 5 or 6am. Night teams are generally not allowed access to our bonds
Thanks for this info.
Can anyone tell me though, can you buy regular electrical items at this time of night? Hubby wants to go get one of regularly priced TVs tonight, can you buy it even if electrical dept is closed?0 -
ive seen quite a few white SEL's in my local with a star * in the left corner..... does this mean they will scan cheaper?
we dont have a price checker so its a case of keep asking at cs.Started comping October 2011, no wins as of yet. Would really love to win a short uk break so we can take the children awayThank you to everyone who takes the times to post competitions and good luck:j
