    @wantsajob

    The worst of human nature seems to come out when people are waiting for final reductions on fresh. We have regulars that I know by sight who come in every night to get cheap stuff. One crazy old woman was barred as she would tell other customers what they could and couldn't have. Also she would snatch what she wanted off other people. It was priceless watching her being escorted out

    Thanks for the information AJ.

    My good lady wife wants an Epi 5. ( Its a hair removal tool for ladies )

    Several MSE's have posted it up as discounted at £7.50.

    I have scanned it at the self scanners today at two different stores and it comes up at full price £69.00.

    Could this be a store specific discount or would it maybe scan at £7.50 at the tills?

    Cheers

    The easy way to spot these is they are the boxes that have solid sides, not the ones with the epilator encased in plastic that is visible from the outside. The older (solid) boxes are the ones that scan cheaply

    I am on holiday until wednesday so not sure what current deals are. I asked my manager and team not to contact me on this hol as on my last they rang me everyday

    Lol. Always like this whenever a member of staff is further reducing perishables/fresh produce dated that day. People just standing there filling their trolleys to the brim waiting for it all to be priced up.

    Nothing wrong with that but I would doubt that trolleys are being filled with near sell by date perishable produce unless they are stupid or run a dodgy catering business

    Thanks Bob , I will keep a look out for the old boxes.

    Lol, I've often watched groups of older ladies grabbing the stuff and passing it round until it ends up in one of their trolleys. OAP pass-the-parcel:D.

    Can't wait until i become an OAP moneysaver. Perhaps I'm being too polite and considerate at the moment. Think I need to up my game to prepare myself for this role

    Must be stupid then, lol - I agree. Many times I've bought one or two heavily reduced items only to bin them when I forget to use them within a day or two.

    Never seen this happening before? Easy to see as the yellow reduced stickers over the barcode are visible on all goods in their trolley from bottom to the top. Seems quite a universal phenomenon to me in supermarkets. Presumably they have big freezers or as many kids to feed as the Waltons.
    Wanted a job, now have one. :beer:

    Its a vicious world to get into (only joking) but my friend who does final reductions on fresh once asked me for tear gas and a baton
