    Thanks for the information AJ.

My good lady wife wants an Epi 5. ( Its a hair removal tool for ladies )

Several MSE's have posted it up as discounted at £7.50.

I have scanned it at the self scanners today at two different stores and it comes up at full price £69.00.

Could this be a store specific discount or would it maybe scan at £7.50 at the tills?

    Cheers

Saw a number of these very cheap atSto"c"to* xtra yesterday. Never used onen but told that you either love them or hate them. Bargain for some but waste of money for others even at reduced prices

Must be stupid then, lol - I agree. Many times I've bought one or two heavily reduced items only to bin them when I forget to use them within a day or two.

Never seen this happening before? Easy to see as the yellow reduced stickers over the barcode are visible on all goods in their trolley from bottom to the top. Seems quite a universal phenomenon to me in supermarkets. Presumably they have big freezers or as many kids to feed as the Waltons.

Been there and now only buy reduced perishables if I was going to buy the same for the next day or so. I used to have the most expensive compost bin contents in the world

    What happened there then?

went in there after work and it was very quiet. picked up a few things that i had seen on this thread and they were exactly the same they scanned thru at the SE price.

when I asked the girl at the electric desk she acted as if she did not know anything about reductions at all.
I actually thought it was rather strange

Just returned from a late night hunt @ G4llions R3ach, along with the very handy pdf doc of all the lovely goodies to buy.....
... jack all really :( Managed to get a Black and Decker 2-in-1 multi sander for £12 (no SEL at all, usually about £35) and that was it!

the Tesco Groceries iPhone app (which includes a scanner) just doesn't work on the SEL Barcode (it's far too small) so i teamed up with a polish staff member who was more than happy to check the items as I read them out but nearly everything showed up at the usual price inc the rest of the full Black and Decker range, Sony MDR570 headphones, Sony 8Gig Walkman. She said it was mayhem in there yesterday and that most of the products had gone.

Thing i dont get is; I've been in there several times over the last few days and NOTHING was scanning at a bargain. None of the cameras or sat navs.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Well, I finally caved in and decided I had to pay a visit. We actually need a microwave so that was my excuse... 45 mins later I left without a microwave but with £21 worth of flowers for £2.10 inc an orchid, roses, lilies, begonia etc. No electricals that I needed, but for my DD a philips multistyler for 3.06 and a babyliss hairdryer which was £27.99 but got it for the SEL of £2.74, as it is the same model but must be different packaging. There were plenty of straighteners left at mad prices, starting at tesco sets for £1.04 I think. Multistylers and nose hair! trimmers a plenty. This is at H*lmb*sh south east.
Anyone know of any good deals on a microwave? ;)

    @ controversialmike

only discontinued cameras and satnavs are being reduced to low prices. The really cheap one are generally 2 to 5 years old.Until recently the company didn't really discount cameras or satnavs. I had a cage of old ones kicking around for nearly 4 years that were more expensive than brand new models. don't waste your time checking current lines
  • I got a Dell netbook on Saturday . I took the little white card from under the display machine and scanned it.

The red Dell was £199 and the black one was £99 , same machine , same spec, different colour !

So some of the current range is on offer.
