Can fly from anywhere north would be best would like to go july or august. 2012 . Beach holiday I think but what I mean with about hotel is I would prefer a place where they are good value for money for example a hotel in the maldives would cost 4000 for two weeks which is far to much money for me .probably can only afford to go on holiday once next year and cant afford one this year as I am currently in turkey at the moment
July or August will be hot pretty much anywhere where you can fly.
You don't need to use up all your points next year, they will just change to Avios and carry on and roll over to the year after and then you can go somewhere again - for europe (anywhere up to Zone 3) you are going to be better off with the new scheme!! Then I will again suggest Morroco - it will be good value then.
I know what you mean with the hotel now... As long as you avoid Barbados and Maldives I think you should be fine:D0 -
On the Ball - tip for future - might be worth having a look how much do Tesco vouchers go for on Ebay...
You might still get your "free" flight!!

That had never even crossed my mind - I will do, thanks!0

I'd guess airmiles are name specific rewards.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I meant to sell Tesco vouchers for cash (check Ebay - unbeliavable!) and buy flight for cash.
Also yes, they are name specific - but you can get flight for anyone, as long as it is you buying it - I saw Airmiles account going on Ebay too, and it fetched quite a few hundred quit!0 -

The problem you may have with July and August and flying from regional airports is availability on the domestic sectors (if going via London). Redemption availability is much lower than normal then with the Olympics in London.0 -

Aaaargh, Olympics, I forgot about that!
But as the guy can fly from Manchester I would say he should be O.K. avoiding London...0 -
Soooooo if the general consensus is that Avios is going to be not so good, which flight/travel loyalty schemes do people recommend?
I've got loads of airmiles and fully intend to use them all in good time .... but to be honest, I'm not sure what I want to collect now ~ so recommendations will be gratefully received.BSallyB
