Can we talk dishwashers now?

Following on from Alias' washing machine thread i'd like to talk about dishwashers:D

Mine has finally given up the ghost, its been lingering on for about a year now but has kicked the bucket now i think.

Only proviso is it has to be slimline, though i think most of the major manufacturers do slimline versions.

Who is good? Who would you not touch with a bargepole?

Any opinions welcome.

  • Wouldn't touch hotpoint/zanussi or smeg again, even with someone else's bargepole.

Mum has AEG which is good.
Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x
  • We have a beko, mainly bought because it was the quietest plus it was cheap.

Had it a year or so now and still very happy with it.

I think if you buy from a major supplier, asda or tesco direct say, you will be fine with whatever brand you get.

Just make sure you get one that does the programmes you want.

I just bought a month ago a very cheap beko (£230). It had great reviews and I was on a budget so it was ideal. It's fantastic! It's so quiet I barely notice it's on. It's got plate racks throughout that can be folded down when I'm not using them too. For value for money you can't go wrong!

I am so envious of the OP!! :rotfl:

I have a Creda Ecowash slimline in my kitchen, it was there when I bought the house. We believe it is nearly 20 years old and is still washing the dishes! I want it to go "pop" because I have a lovely space for a a full size dishwasher that would have lots of pretty lights on it and be quiet! But the Creda keeps on trucking!

So I would have to say anything from the Creda stable is good!! :rotfl:

I only have a small kitchen so find my dishwasher a big help keeping everywhere tidy as all the dirty stuff gets put in there:D

I have a hotpoint one & have had no problems with it.

When I brought my dishwasher my sister told me it would change my life, I thought she was being a DQ, turns out she was right

Ive had my Bosch dishwasher for nearly 13 years now. Never had a problem with it, wish I had bought a couple so there would be a reliable back up when the first stops working. Apparently they dont make them like they use to, god I sound like my gran. I think they would do a slimline version :)

You sound remarkably calm for someone who has a knackered dishwasher. I hate washing up so the thought of mine dying leaves me in a cold sweat :D
