Thanks for that, will probably go for it anyway! What was the top rated Slimline one if you dont mind looking?

I'd always buy Bosch. More expensive than some but are pretty efficient. I have both a Bosch washing machine and dishwasher and they're pretty good.

I got both of them through an online Comet offer a while ago. Worth seeing if you can get a Bosch cheaper through an online deal.

The one I mentioned. :) Few slimline models in the best buy table, there were more integrated ones and only one freestanding (that one above). The rest were all full sized.

Went back to read more of the reviews. One person was complaining more about the poor manual and the Bosch helpline being bad rather than the dishwasher itself. That's the person that gave 1 out of 5.

That wouldn't worry me tbh, I think I could suss things out even with a bad manual. I'd probably buy it. :)

  • Does anyone even read the manual for things like dishwashers? Surely they are fairly self explanatory! Put dishes in, add detergent, switch on....

    I've been Money Tipped!
We've been looking at dishwashers, and there is no doubt, when I get one I'm getting one with a cutlery tray not a drawer. If you get a spare tray and devote two drawers to cutlery you need never wrestle with a silly cutlery basket again!
  • Touch wood!!! I think it may be working................ Eeek, just switched it on in the vain hope it would work!!! Its doing something.

Is it wrong that i'm so excited?

I repair these every day. Best, in order of price, are: -

    Miele
    Bosch/Siemens (both same company)
    Amica

Bosch and Amica both come with a two year guarantee, both are pretty decent machines.

This house came with a dishwasher, but we never used it much - and we've just had it removed completely to make more space in the conservatory. I never really saw the point - washing by hand doesn't take very long, and the machine never seemed to wash everything properly anyway, especially after cooking something like a roast.
