Hello everybody :hello:and hugs to all who need them:grouphug:.

JackieO - yep I hear mums like that sometimes and frankly I have to bite my tongue not to say "do you realise how lucky you are to have a child"? I'd probably be told to .......

Quick bob in today. Spent most of the day pillow washing....Very annoyed as some meat we bought on Saturday (okay it was in the fridge until Tuesday when we put it in the freezer) has "gone". Won't be buying from that place again. I mean, that's a bit quick isn't it? :( On a "woot woot" got good seats for Kasabian :j- £72 including booking fee!!! Well they are the main band we follow but they'll soon be pricing themselves out of our radar.....My holiday gear arrived - all bought in the sales - about £180 worth for £80 and I appear to have lost enough weight already to get into a dress I thought I would just be looking at in the wardrobe. Hussah! :j Also been paid for the NHS Tribunal work I did last month (which is good as last night we were moving money around as we realised that we were about £50 short of what we need to pay the D/Ds that go out today including the mortgage).....Seem to have a got a job typing estate agent blurbs via an outsourcing place so I'm now typing on houses about 400 miles away :rotfl:

Well that's it from me. Jacket Pot with cottage cheese for me tonight and then an hour on the wii - 30 mins "various" and 30 mins step....okay, let's be realistic, 30 mins :rotfl: Contemplating whether to get some bulbs now or wait until they're"end of line". Put my runner beans in late and it's runner beans on Sunday :j Also will be giving some thought to presents now for the C word..... £5 buys 5 canvas tote bags which I could personalise...... Right, off. Hope you all have a nice evening....Indian summer here, well, it's sunny.....:D
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

I got a Canon printer in Spain, and it has been the easiest and simplest to use of any. Still on original ink, and it works even after being left for a month or 3. You can get a model with all the inks separate to help keep the cost down.

Arrived at Driffield, and the sun is out :D Time for wine me thinks ;)

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • NPM nice to hear that you are feeling a bit better and I hope Noah has settled down a bit.

I wish that you had been around when my DD was dying - His care was appalling and that was with a male macmillan nurse I know it was 25 years ago but I think that care for older people in this country is still appalling.

Sistercas I have a Kodak as well but that is just for photos, I have a laser printer for office stuff.
Wasn't Dr Who good on Saturday and this week's looks well creepy.
Will you be watching "Gaywood" tonight? I must say I have not enjoyed this one as much as the last 2 series of Torchwood........ overlong, over americanised, oversexed and the story is taking too long to unfold and as such is dragging.
Well DH has just put up the last piece of plasterboard in the utility room, he really has worked like a Trojan toget it done so tomorrow he is going to do the floor tiles and we will plaster at the weekend.
Dinner tonight is chicken breast with garlic butter and breadcrumbs on top with a jacket potato and a nice big salad.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I'd rather not think about my work kids like that!!!! :rotfl:

Well I've stopped stressing about not having OAPs for the work thing and have decided that we will now do something else, and spend the money they were going to on a treat for them instead. We had a lovely afternoon, took them to the cabin and it was really sunny, so they washed my minibus :) and then we played games in the park.

After work I went to the tip to take some recycling and then popped to shops to return some bits. I'm knackered now and really CBA'd to make tea.

    Have a good evening all

  • BB it was 22 years ago I started my training and nurses seem to be trained differently now:( they are not taught respect for people anymore or how to relate to people or how important the little things are when caring for people.
When I was training we did a lot of work around this poem
    http://gii-el.blogspot.com/2009/01/crabbit-old-woman-wrote-this.html

and it has always stayed with me when looking after old people.
I never look at them as simply " an old !!!!!!" like some do.
So sorry that your DD had such awful care there is no excuse for it:mad::(.
The fact that you still have such sad memories of it goes to show that it has an effect on the whole family forever and the people providing care would do good to remember that.
I did a lot of work with young people dying of HIV related illnesses and I used to have a book where I noted when they had died and used to send the relatives a card on the first anniversary as the first one is often the hardest...marking a year that has gone by.

    Evening all,

Just popping in as I have 5 mins. My feet haven't touched the floor today. Managed to dry 5 lots of washing, its been glorious here.

Also had a very successful trip to the charity shop. Got a gorgeous thick cream cardy from Next for a fiver and a lovely pashmina in a soft blue and a handbag, both a pound each:D

Came back and made a chilli, made lunch for DS3 quick swish round, picked DD up from the train station and dropped her at the hairdressers, nipped to Mr A for milk and bread and did some recycling. Just waiting to get the call to pick her up and then will dish tea out....and breath

Must get on and pack our bags for lakes this wkend and then will probably collapse on the sofa, how can it be that I am not skinny, I am never still.
