Have a good sleep Jannyannie. I always loved going to bed in the morning after nights as I was asleep as my head hit the pillow. Especially nice on a cold morning when the rest of the world is doing battle with the elements. However I always hated de-icing the car after a night in the middle of winter xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning All
Actually slept in my UK home bed last night
Still a little jaded, by the fact we were constantly on the go for the last few days, worth it, and got some lovely hugs from DS & GF and thanked for all our help.
:hello: Welcome newbies nice to see some new faces around.
NPM hope you are starting to feel better, and you too bethebee. Flutterbye glad the B12 injections seem to be helping (sorry the last one hurt) JG - Hope you are OK hun - sorry the BIL is not good with the Chemo Bitsy Welcome back - glad you enjoyed the holiday J-0 Glad you had a nice holiday, and full marks on the complaint. Shame that some folks cannot remember to be young and just enjoy their kids while they are small, I happily worked full time, but once home our lives were totally around him, even gave up going out to a regular quiz as we made the decision to have him after 12 years of freedom, and didn't miss it a bit. Busy sorting and packing as off for a real break in the caravan today, first few days at a rally near the Lawns Caravan Show - which displays the 2012 models, has loads of stalls of accessories, and even the park homes, which I like to get ideas from. Then we are running one for 4 days and then off to an entertainment weekend courtesy of a dealer next weekend. I got 3 loads of washing done last afternoon/night, OK for clothes but need some undies to dry, hopefully they had in the conservatory overnight. OS wise, I have raided the freezer and stocked up the caravan one again. Will take anything else left in the fridge and put it in the caravan one together with some cheese I have, which will go to the Cheese and Wine we are having next week.
Take care all - hope to be around a bit more for the next few days at least. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Morning all
Just a quick update from me as I'm at work so haven't got time to catch up with everyones posts. Kind of wishing I hadn't come in today if I'm honest, the pain in my ear was unbearable through the night, last time I remember looking at the clock was 6am and my alarm goes off at 7 so think I got about an hours sleep. Pain isn't as bad this morning but it's still sore, can't really talk properly as the left side of my face is now swollen, what a pretty sight I look eh!
Made the gingerbread cupcakes last night and H2B said they were nice ( that could mean yeah they're passible or wow these are delicious, it seems to be his stock answer for everything! ) by the time I'd made them I didn't fancy one so haven't tried them yet, brought them in to work with me to have one with a cuppa later and no doubt they'll be shared round. Tea tonight is going to be chilli, so glad I batch cooked a couple of weeks ago because there's no way I could face cooking tonight so just taken it out the freezer for re-heating and H2B can sort the rice. Think I'm going to load up on painkillers to get through the day and have a nice mug of hot chocolate before bed in the hopes it sends me off to sleep... though do you really need an excuse for hot chocolate?!
Anyways best get some work done! Hugs to those that need them, sorry I haven't been very chatty, once I've got over this blooming ear infection I'll be more sociableGoing to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!
Got married to my lovely hubby on 12/11/2011

Knew I had forgotten something
Redruby - sorry to hear about your Dad. I know exactly what you mean as I had the same with my Mum. The medical nurses seem to be lacking in TLC. My Mum was transferred from a medical hospital to one for strokes and older folkes, dehydrated and with a broken hip, which she had not got when she went in nor was she dehydrated then. They would torment and tease those with talking difficulties after strokes as they knew if they did they got the to swear. Had to remind them 3 times for some rails to top her falling out of bed after a stroke. They did respond when I asked if they were waiting for her to fall out before they stopped talking? In the end I stayed after visiting time each lunchtime to give her her dinner and a drink. They left them at the end of the bed and she could not walk nor use one arm.
Is there a stroke unit or older persons unit near you? DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Morning all,
Haven't been on here for a couple of days, so busy decorating DD1's hall, stairs & landing. Walls & ceilings done just need to Satinwood 9 doors. We held a suprise dinner for DGD1 last night to celebrate her exam results and her going to Uni in 3 wks time. 10 of us hid in DD1's kitchen and shouted SUPRISE when DGD1 came in. Had a lovely time but made it a long day by the time we got home at 10.30pm.
DH's lunch packed, BM finished and washing hanging out drying in the sunshine.
Stuffed chicken breasts for dinner tonight to go with chips & corn on the cob.
Off to catch up, have a good day all.0 -

Thanks DG and everyone,
He has to be in hospital for at least another week, on complete bed rest, they will do an xray on his hip then, and decide what to do going forward, he will be unable to go home unless he can walk again as mum cannot lift him.
There are a couple of nurses who are lovely, one male one in particular is always very kind to dad, and is generally a nice chap, and one of the female nurses is also very kind, the others are not nasty, but just dont seem to have the time to careI really despair about the care for our elderly.
I am going to make some batches of cakes for him today, so that whoever goes in can take 2 or 3 to him.
Bright and beautiful day here, got one load on the line and another in the wm, have got mums dog here to give her a break so dd and I will take them for a long walk later.
Need to have a quick tidy round, nip to the shop for cheese, and I think I will then watch a film with dd.
Dinner tonight is something with chips, will go and have a look in a while.
Take care all xx0
