NSD number 15 which takes me to half of September as NSD's :j

DD1 and I have got to test the Werthers original flavoured vodka tonight. She is going to make her dad and step mum a hamper for christmas of assorted flavoured vodka minitures and of course, she wouldn't dream of giving them anything that we had not checked the quality of first :D

  • Morning all

Went to MrT last night for a couple of bits and they had part boned Lamb Shoulder reduced from £22 to £16 and £20 to £12 - said to DH that it was still too dear for us, when we were at the checkout waiting to pay the reducing man came along and reduced them some more so we got them for £8 and £6 - we got 5 joints out of the pieces and there was still some left for others to buy - we'd given up on being able to afford Lamb!!!! Very pleased

    Fantastic Helen, yum!

Wish I was a bit nearer the supermarket but a 16 mile round trip in the car just can't be justified on the off-chance there may be some whoopsies. :(

I've updated my signature and I'm definitely going to come in under budget this month because basically I haven't been buying much food!

We are having our kitchen ripped out and replaced by our local HA and for the second weekend on the trot we have no cooker and no sink. I'm living off microwave meals and toast but I keep telling myself it will all be worth it. My OH has just been on the phone to them as the electrician has left us with no downstairs lights either...something we didn't discover till 8:30pm last night. Deep breaths and all that!
  • Just been to aldi and spent £32.98. I have updated my signature. They hadn't had a delivery so i didn't get everything i wanted.

  • Well I went over again this month grrrr I know exactly where the spends have come from so I guess that is something.

DH was paid yesterday so my October GC started then so please can you put me down for £400 for the Oct GC

Costco have the quilted velvet on offer at the moment (40 rolls for £10 something) so will be off to get some of those. Tried the HB Nicky ones but didnt realise they were scented until we used them and had a reaction ouch! Currently using Asda own quilted ones but they work out more expensive when costco have their Quilted on offer (and the 40 rolls do last us 2 months). Will also need cheese at costco (works out much cheaper as my DH and DD2 eat cheese every day). Was going to get one of their cakes for my Dads birthday but it would mean the spend was all ours and I am not sure we can do that really (noone wants to go half but they want me to go and get it, buy it and then not actually eat any lol). My Dad doesnt know about the cake so wont care anyways. Might make him one myself if I have the time.

I actually managed to get some of the 22p wholemeal Tesco pasta last week as well which makes a change as we always miss the bargains. We only eat wholemeal pasta so this saves us quite a bit considering its usually 80p+ per bag.

I am also trying to add a couple of extra tins/packets into the shopping ready in case we have bad snow again. Last November when it snowed we couldnt get out of our road by car (on an incline) and the local shop had nothing in it when we walked there! I must also make sure I have enough baby milk, nappies, wipes and normal milk as they are the things we would need most of. DS's milk is only available in the bigger Asda so mustnt run out of that.

    Have a good month everyone.

    Thank you.

  • Just a quick update. I popped to Mr T last night at about 8pm for some milk and bread (and chocolate...) - and ended up by the reduced section at just the right time!

I got a 500g pack of Pilgrims Choice cheddar reduced from £4.49 to 49p, a £4.00 pot of olives and manchego cheese from the deli counter reduced to 44p, a big pack of "fish pie mix" fresh fish reduced from £6.84 to 75p and a pack of fresh king prawns for 11p!:money:

Remind me to head to Mr T at 8pm every Friday night!
