Thanks all - order being delivered on Tuesday (mainly store cupboard items) so no hurry & didn't see the point in spending an extra £3 to have it delivered earlier!
Will just manage to sneak it into this month's budget - going to drastically reduce for next month as cupboards will be full and freezers looking pretty healthy too so hopefully fresh stuff only .....
I can't get out and about just now (just had surgery) and I've def saved a lot by not popping to the local shops for "bits and bobs" which all mount up.
That's where my huge overspend must come from as it's easy to do and you don't realise how much you're actually spending.
Off to trawl through the receipes at the start to find some new and tasty things to make!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Update my spends for the week I've tried to resist going to shops as much as I usually would as I really want to stay within budget Just once
Went to shops twice both to Ald* as I don't spend as much in there compared to if I went to a big supermarket.
Shop 1 £4.50
Shop 2 £7.86
£89.32 left for the month.
I have a £10 off a £70 spend for Mr T's so if I could just spend the £70 I could do this off to meal plan and write a shopping list.
hope everyone else does it good luck!!!0 -
Morning everyone, today is day 1 of my grocery challenge as its payday today.
Have a T delivery later on so will add that to my sig once I have the actual total. Next week is all meal planned, its just the popping to the shops scenario that I need to avoid.
Fingers crossed for a good week :cool:Grocery Challenge 112.20/250.00

Been to Mr A this morning and spent £24.81, also added £5 for the breakfast club my daughter goes to as I hadn't added it before but really it should be part of groceries, the only things I could run out of now are bread, milk and yoghurts so hopefully the £15 left of the budget should be enough although £2 of that will be for next weeks breakfast club. Fingers crossed I can still make it.To get to Disneyland Florida 20160

NSD again as not going out - that makes 3 so far this week by my reckoning - not entirely intentional, jsut not upto going out so I can't lay claim to being all restrained lol
Leftover mince and onion in gravy for boyfriends tea as he's here and fishfingers and mash for me - he doesn't like thatangelatgraceland wrote:What you may find good next time is when it "looks cooked" turn the tin over in the oven upside down(sounds mad I know) and cook for a further 10 mins or so. this will cook the bottom of the loaf better and improve it. I did this with mine yesterday. tweak it to your own individual taste. You could add chopped onion to it also but if you do-use less water as onions have high water content. Chilli would also be good-as would sundried tomatoes!:p
Yep I did this already, always do as I like a crunchy bottom pmsl - it was jsut the middle that was just a tad wet, so will cut down liquid a smidge bit by bit till I get it rightWant to do a pesto one, not entirely sure how much to put in or if I would need to add less liquid again to compensate, any idea?
Re washing powders - saw this linked to on another thread thought might be useful for some..http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10KGS-TOP-BRAND-CRUSHED-WASHING-POWDER-TABLETS-/140602362274?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20bc8dc9a2Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!
