Spent £7.72 in Asd but £3.50 of that was on a metal colander which OH needs for the building work (don't ask - I have no idea!) Not sure if that should go in the renovation budget or the groceries? I guess I'll stick it in the groceries for now but I might cheat later if the budget is getting a bit tight! Better go off and fix sig now...0

Went to the local shop and spent £8.74 on some much needed kitchen roll, bananas, milk, lettuce, mushrooms, cucumber and yogurts, which leaves me with £142.27 for the rest of the month, but have organised a delivery on Monday from MrA, so will keep you posted on that.
Really starting to enjoy this challenge as it's seriously making me think about what I need and don't need!£2013 in 2013 £866.71/£2013

Hi everyone, reporting my 1st spends of the month - I nearly had heart failure when my bill in Mr A came to £47:eek: but there's a few deductions (tea/coffee for our team's stock at work - ran out of teabags yesterday which wasn't good!).
Also 2 summer duvets - one for me (king = £5.42) and a new one for the dog's bed (double = £4.60).
If anyone's in need it they're pretty good quality and wash well. In our Mr A they were hidden away and mixed up with the full price ones so have a hunt - HTH someone.:)
Anyway, after I've deducted the above, I've ended up with £27.01 so not too bad.
Looking forward to dinner tonight - dug a chicken out the freezer last night & got some veg to make roasties to go with it. Seem to have been eating odd things all week so looking forward to a "proper" meal!
Banana loaf
I've a few "past it" bananas and am about to make banana loaf to use them up.
I was going to post the recipe as it's the easiest thing to make (and very yummy:)) but it's practically the same as the one on the front page .... (banana bread)
The only difference is that I also add 1/2 teaspoon of Vanilla Essence which adds an extra bit of flavour.:DGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

A NSD today apart from the newspaper so i can collect the vouchers for the free photobook and that doesn't count as groceries, can't see me meeting my target for NSDs this month though as I will have an extra 4 spending days by way of my daughters dinner money when she starts school on Tuesday but i will try. Plan for this week is that I should not need to buy anything before our delivery from MR A and Mr T on Thursday and the dinner money on tuesday so I plan that if i do have to buy anything i will buy on tuesday which is already going to be a spending day therefore I am hoping NSDs on sunday, monday, wednesday and friday...fingers crossed! To get to Disneyland Florida 20160

Went to Mr.A's today as I was passing (and don't normally as 30 mins drive away) and spent £23.05 mainly on larder stocks: soups, cereal bars, cat food and some freezer items: fish fingers, chips, pizza. Best buy was 2 x own brand frubes (raspberry squeezems) which were 50p for 6.....perfect for kids brekkie/snacks.
Off into the garden/fields this afternoon to gather some more cultivated (very generous brother in law) and wild produce - hoping for:
- Eggs
- potatoes
- Onions (red & white)
- carrots
- red cabbage
- raspberries
- tomatoes
- leeks
- apples
- pears
- plums
- blackberries (if ripe enough)
Certainly saves on the fruit and veg part of the budget!!
Then soup and crumbles I shall make this evening - might even try apple juice!Me, 2 x kiddies and multiple pets.

Spent £8 today. Too ashamed to say what on (Tesco ready-prepared sandwiches are the least of our worries..!), but we are flying to northern ireland later today and its cheaper than buying airport food and munchies for three of us on the way there.
