Done a bit of shopping today to take us to thursday when I am having a home delivery from both Mr A and Mr T, got a Mr T voucher for £5 off so that will pay most of the delivery charge for the two deliveries, had to swap my days at work as my eldest starts school this week so won't have time to do the shopping and avoid supermarkets on a weekend. I must say I am really noticing the price increases on the two sites but I really need to meet budget this month if not spend less as two cars need MOTs and one is likely to fail, first one in tomorrow so fingers crossed that one goes through. To get to Disneyland Florida 20160

So, another NSD Grocery wise anyway. Took the kids to the beach for a few hours so apart from the petrol and the £4 parking costs - we didn't spend anything as we took a picnic lunch and squash. Kids are off to cousin's birthday party for the day with their dad so away 9am-7pm......got to be good and stay away from the shops in their absence - normally it is easy as it is utter hell going to the shops with them in tow.......fingers crossed for another grocery NSD....:jMe, 2 x kiddies and multiple pets.

:eek:Oh dear i had to pick up my dh perscription today so we now only have £11.50 until 24th Sept:eek: but on the plus side i have a meal plan until then and my cupboards are well stocked, i only have ham, banana's and milk to buy until the 24th, so it's not quite as bad as it sounds.:D0

well I managed for the first time ever in my life to walk into a supermarket with a list of 6 things and come out with the things on the list and nothing else!!! So I have spent £20.81 on nappies, SMA, milk, garlic, mint jelly and toilet rolls. Not the cheapest 6 items! But all essential (except perhaps the mint jelly...

Helen jelly, thank you for doing the thread and getting my budget in even though I didn't do it in red! You are looovely.
Spent £19.99 in T's today - I have so much stuff in now that I should be able to make all my fave meals without having to buy much - I stocked up on value frozen stir fry veg, turkey mince and a big bottle each of oyster sauce and soy sauce to make my version of chow mein (I have a massive stash of noodles in from when Aldi were selling them cheap) so that I won't be tempted to go and get a ready meal or takeaway. I also use turkey mince to make large vats of bolognese, and even doner style kebabs.
Now my big challenge is to make sure I don't find myself wandering into supermarkets this coming week on my way home from work - I really don't need anything! I've got plenty of stuff in to make lunches for work next week as well.
I've got a small notebook where I'm keeping my receipts and a record of any shop visits!
Not sure how to do this in sig yet so: Sept challenge £19.99/£120I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Gah - even though I spent most of my budget yesterday I'm still finding stuff that I forgot to buy! Have nothing to drink at the moment but water
. Oh and wine. But I don't want to waste that on a boring night in!
Any recommendations for good places to buy squash? Got to go out for building supplies tomorrow so I'll be passing most shops on the trip. I suppose I should treat OH to some coke as well - he doesn't drink wine so coke is his weakness. Anywhere got it on offer at the moment?0 -
I've been setting my own grocery challenges since the beginning of the year, but would like to join in now, please! It's taken me a while, but I have been studying the Wise MSE Words, and feel I can now s-t-r-e-t-c-h a chicken with the best of you - oh dear, that sounds quite cruel. A cooked chicken. Please could you put me down for £90 - that's £3 a day for September, for 2 adults and 2 cats, including all toiletries and cleaning stuff.
And very many thanks to the generous folks who run these threads.
Best wishes, the cake (a very cheap HM cake, obviously)0 -
Hi I wonder if I can join you. My month, at present runs from the last friday (so 26th aug this time) to the last friday of september when its payday, though this may change soon as I'm looking for a new job.
Anyhow I'd like to declare £160 for september please (sorry, not sure how to make it bigger!!). This will just be groceries for myself and DD, I've already stockpiled cat food when it was on offer and as we've just come back from 3 weeks away will include lots of 'restocking the fridge things'. If we eat out it'll come out of 'treats' money.
I've done an inventory of the freezer and am mealplanning around that for main meals. I really really hope to come under my total.
So far I've spent £19.21 and £17.73 so a total of £36.94 (I think, can't find the calculator!!). Hopefully will only need milk, bread, a melon and frozen peas until next friday, but I'm a sucker for a bargain or a yellow sticker and need keeping on the straight and narrow.Helen. Single mum to DD(7) and 2 siamese cats. Trying to decrease my debt and spending and increase my savings and lose weight-30lbs so far!
