First shop of September, not a bad start either!:D
I went back to the usual rounds of A!di and Morrison$, spent £34.72 and £13.44 respectively. Picked up some pork & apple sausages with a view to making some toad in the hole later. OH loves my yorkshire pudding, it's the only he'll eat, so I imagine with the sausages it will go down a treat.

I'm a week into my month and so far I've spent £15.75. I've just been buying bits and bobs like milk and sandwich stuff, so not actually got round to doing a proper shop yet. I've got plenty of stuff in the freezer so that should keep me going to a while anyway!Mortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30000

My (singleton) grocery challenge of £50 (not incl alchohol or cigs) is running from 21 Aug through to 25 Sept (5 wks), just because I have a small fridge/freezer full of portioned hm meals, some frozen meats to be cooked and enough fresh/frozen veg to keep me going for a couple of weeks, some h/grown shallots and potatoes.
Week 1 – I got off to a flying start spending a grand total of 0.45p, needed painkillers due to having a tooth pulled – oh dear more treatment needs doing so will have a dentist bill to contend with before end of Sept.
Week 2 – I was determined to stick to my menu plan and use up the stocks in order to defrost freezer and make a start on refilling it in a more organised fashion. Got a bit jittery when the salad/veg drawer was empty so nipped into @ldi for some of their “super 6” Sainsbugs for some store cupboard staples – total spend on groceries = £5.67, however got inspired by the “Prep for winter” thread and bought some fleece throws from A$da and lined my living room curtains, at least that’s a job off my list.
NSD today & tomorrow, so all in a household spend of £19.52, leaving £30.48 for the next three weeks .Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Aug Grocery spends = £219.21
Sept - Grocery spends = £ 27.290 -
First grocery spend of the month - a few storecupboard/toiletry bits from Aldi and Home Bargains - grand total £5.32!
I also caved and bought two deep hessian patio veg planters from HB at £1.99 each, and 60 spring bulbs for a further £2 from the Pound Shop, but I've got a separate budget for garden things which will cover those (and anyway I thought they were bargains!).
The DDs were pleading for magazines (which are a complete waste of money IMHO as they cost about £3 each, only last five minutes, and fill the house with annoying plastic tat) so we compromised and nipped into The Works for a 99p book each, but I don't count those as groceries.

Have just done my main food shop for the month and stocked up on everything so all toiletries, cleaning stuff, meat etc for the month bought.
Total spend was £219.75, this leaves me with £110.00 for the rest of the month but will only need fresh fruit and veg, milk and bread so hope to stay under budget this month1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480

Thanks to all those who organise the thread!
Please put Hex2 down for £375 in September - need to do a big meat order, and we are gaining an extra adult.
I have already been to MrS for pet food, and ordered another £10 of coffee from Amazon.
Co-op have 16 rolls of nouvelle toilet roll for £5.
Really pleased with myself for August, had a challenging target of £300 and went over by £2.50 in the end. I only went to the co-op five times, some months it is closer to 20'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Spent £63 already, and it's only the third day of my month! Didn't help that included in my weekly shop last night was a £4.50 toothpaste and a £5 candle! Oh, and a bottle of wine
Will do my best to have a no spend weekend!September GC: £400.00/£600 (everything except mortgage & bills)0
