Well didn't go to the supermarket today :j Amazing what you can come up with when you have a scrat around in the freezers and cupboards!!
Did a HM apple crumble - with apples of our trees (they were huge!!) and that went down very wellDon't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend...

Hi All
Hope it has been a good day for you. I went to Morrisons armed with a list this morning so I didn't overdo it. Only bought a few things that weren't on itand managed to keep my spend under £40 which is very good for me (although I did have a £5 voucher from the petrol station)!
Pepsi Max 2lt bottles were half price at 87p and mum is addicted to Werthers Originals which were also half price at 57p so I got a couple of each - neither was on my list. I also got value tomatoes which weren't on my list and chocies to try to cheer mum up (she is in hospital). Oh and I got talked into buying a bag of Mini Stars which are so overpriced and bought some of those innocent smoothies and little apple fruit shoots for my little man - also half price and some mini rolls (I think we should have shares in them). Plus I got a couple of ready meals to take to work for £1 each - I try to take left overs as a rule to warm up but it doesn't always go to plan so it is nice to have something in hand. I always spend about £3 if I buy lunch at work.
I had particularly wanted to get lemons and root ginger and more sugar for my jam - I made marrow and ginger jam (I am not sure about it TBH - just tastes of ginger but very sweet) and apple and plum jam today. Also stewed some apples with freshly squeezed orange juice and put them in the freezer today and I baked cakes yesterday so I am having a very domesticated weekend! If anyone makes marrow jam - what do you have it with?
Other things I got were gravy granules - onion and vegetable - trying the Morrisons own this time as they are 1/3 the price of Bisto Best, mushrooms (can't live without 'em), milk, coffee, cat biscuits, cheese, squirty cream, cottage cheese, Morrisons value pitta bread (these are amazing and only 19p per pack) and maybe some other bits I have forgotten about!
Hubby is at the pub and little man is in bed so having a chill out with a vodka and cokeBeen updating the budget planner thingy which we are just about breaking even on but I am sure there are things I will have forgotten so really do need to get on top of my shopping budget again.
Oh forgot to say, hubby thinks we will be popping to the shop all week as I have only spent £40 so I am on a mission to prove him wrong! I am going to try to do a meal plan for the week tomorrow.

£54.02 spent in Tesco today - I had a £5 off a £50 spend voucher. We've just come back from a week away in a caravan, so the fridge was bare. Was feeling tired and a bit lazy too, so bought a cooked chicken - the shame of it :rotfl: I also stocked up on cat biscuits as they were £4.00 for a 1kg bag instead of the usual £5.80 or so.
Fridge is now full of healthy food so I can carry on with slimming world - weight loss has ground to a halt during the little person's school holidays.0 -
went into wood green and spent 50p on perle le lait, had moc and 61p on heart and mixed veg (whoopsies). Also had to buy the frubes offer in Mr T extra. Then my sister was paying for takeaway but in the end down 5 pounds. This makes my total 8.20/60.00.grocery challenge 9.86/600

Yesterday was a NSD. We are having a duck crown today (this was a woopsie at xmas, £3.50). We have had it in the freezer since we bought it as we keep putting off trying it as none of us have ever eaten duck before, but today is the day! We are having it with veg from my allotment.
2 bulbs have gone in my spot lights in my kitchen in the last few days so i think i will have to buy the bulbs today as you can't see when it's dark now....this will dent my remaining £11.50 of my food budget but the bulbs are needed.
Yesterday i told my family that they can't keep eating the cheese the way they do...they got through 500g in two days and it's just too expensive to keep buying it!
My shopping is more expensive now as my dd2 has recently become diary intolerant and soya milk and 'pure marg', and diary free chocolate is so expensive, but these are basics needed and i also use them to make cakes, bread etc...how people go on when they can't bake is beyond me, the diary free cakes are horrible and diaryfree bread is expensive too. My dd does love the alpro mouses though so i do buy these for her lunch, but these are not cheap0 -
Well, I spent £10 in co-op yesterday which I wasn't intending (only went in for a cheap bottle of rose) but it's all good because I got some bargains - got the utterly butterly on offer (£2 for 2 tubs), dd's favorite ice-lollies (fabs) were on 2 packs of 8 for £3 (I usually get the tesco favourites selection, which has imitation fabs in it and is 15 lollies for £3 so this was a good deal for me and will save £3 on my shop later on) and a pack of apples reduced to 70p (apples go like hot cakes in my house) plus the rose, and I treated myself to a bar of choc.... So that puts me up to £75/300 - but I'm remaining optimistic, I have nappies, cleaning stuff and toiletries coming out of my ears and cupboards are full of pasta, baking supplies, tea and coffee, sauces etc - so theoretically I should only need to buy meat, veg, milk and bread for the rest of the month.September GC £341/£3000

managed to have a NSD yesterday so very pleased. My inlaws popped in to see the kids on their way to the airport on their hols and they brought some bits and pieces for us that would have gone off while they were away! (bread, milk, an apple, eggs, some tomatoes and butter!!) This was very kind of them and will help keep this months spend down!mortgage £800 overpayment 2022. £600/£2400 2023 🙂 savings £1853/£1800 😊0
