September 2011 Grocery Challenge

@jpscloud... we converted to value UHT about 18 months ago, and could never buy anything else now! The difference between that and fresh skimmed is negligible, and you can stock up on it too as it lasts ages! I usually buy in 8-10 ltrs at a time, and there is no worry about it going off until you open it up! And it's mega cheap! Of course, you know this, but I am always urging others to try it
Possibly not a NSD today, but I don't think I need worry about it given I have 2 days left, am well under budget and over on my NSD targets!
Will update any spends later :heartsmilDebt Free Journey started 21.05.20170 -
Hi all,
Well I am declaring my September spend at a horrendous £399.68....
The only positive is that I seem to have got more off a grip on it over the last two weeks - since 15th September my spend has only been £100.79. I am hoping that i will be able to carry this on and stick to budget for October!
Mind you, before I started doing this challenge and being so aware of every penny I am spending I am quite sure my grocery spend would have been a lot higher than even the amount I'm declaring this month! So maybe not a total disaster.....GROCERY CHALLENGEJanuary £214.42/£300.00

Well, I spent £60 at Mr Ts the other day, so I'm declaring at £341 - £41 over budget, but not too bad for a first attempt (previous months have been £500 +) Think I'm going to try a different tactic for next month, I think I will but all my non perishables for the whole month in one go, but only buy a few days dinners at a time - I think my lack of motivation for having to go to the shops might force me to get creative with what I have in the cupboards!!!September GC £341/£3000

OK, have gone slightly over budget by £270!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What was I doing? Glad I wrote it all down though, think maybe £360 budget may have been a bit much to start with!
I shall now go and work out a more realistic budget for October, though bought loads of meat last week which should last about 3 weeks......mmmmmmmSept. grocery challenge = £500 (221.60 so far!;))0 -
Spent £14.04 at Mr T this morning and should not need anything else this week. I will not declare yet, just in case anything crops up, but it looks like I will be well under
Cutting £50 off next month as I now have a freezer that is creaking at the seams! I reduce it more, but I have DS2's birthday in the middle of the month and I want to make allowences for that.
