Payday today, so declaring for September at £131.32, from a budget of £120. Slightly disappointing but a huge improvement from this time last year, especially for a "long month". I did cheat slightly by not counting the £5 Spar voucher I won on their monthly competition
Challenge for next month (as well as keeping in budget, obviously!!) is to get the contents of the freezer under control. I haven't been very good at keeping track of what's in there, and OH said the other day he hates using it because he can't find what he wants under all the other stuff. After I calmed down I can see his pointI'm pretty good at labelling each bag but that's not enough when there are so many to wade through!
Not sure if this means I need less stuff in there, or just a better system! I used to have an inventory posted on the door, might try rebooting that to start with & see if it helps. Maybe some tubs to keep things separate - one for the various bags of raw meat, one for the various bags of cooked meat, etc. Will need to have a ponder.0 -
another £12 today in lidl, bought butternut squash, sweet potatoe, cucumber and figs! (figs are fresh, 15 p each and juicy!) as all reasonable, and choc for dd, dogfood for winter stores and diet pop. £24.05 left for thusr and fri so no reason overspend this month...nov grocery challenge, £.227.69/300, 9/25 nsd: , 7 Cmo, 10 egm.

Had a relapse today and bought some junk, plus other more MSE things (four bags of whoopsied parsnips at 19p a bag!). My actual spends are probably getting on for £200 this month, I'm ashamed to say. That does include all groceries (some will last for weeks), pet food for a couple of months, cleaning etc., but it was much harder to stay within the budget than I thought. More effort required!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

As this has been unstickied, I guess I must be the only one left still on my September budget.
Today was a NSD and hoping for the same tomorrow, but if I have any spends, I will just update in my sig and then start my October budget on 1st October.
