I also use a sonic cat repeller, they take a few days at first, but they do work.

Got worse when neighbour supplied us with the above, sonic sound must have met with their aproval as the cats donned their ice skates and did a few "triple lutz" and "triple axel" jumps over car roofs and bonnets!!

Had neighbour round to show the damage, did he care.............nope!
  • Amazing how hysterical people get about cats :D (Not talking about the original post just generally). They are just another form of wildlife no worse than foxes, slugs or birds.
The cats round here all behave because me and every one of my neighbours have cats and as a result they all stay in their own garden territory.
Personally I find my neighbours constant ivy and bindweed invasion (he never gardens) 100 times more annoying.
Still it's rare for a cat to "go" on a lawn unless it is overgrown. If it's kept short and tidy it's very unlikely, if the grass is overgrown the cat thinks it's safe to leave it there.
One method is to give the cat a good soaking with a hose of water pistol but that won't really deter them because you can't be out there watching 24 hours a day and the cat will just get confused unless it is consistent.
The best way is to appeal to cat psychology, if you are nice to the cat, make a fuss of it and leave it some food on the spot it poos on it will go elsewhere to make a mess.
The alternative which I did after being the local cat toilet for a few years is to get the biggest alpha male cat ever of your own. Cats for miles around are terrified of my Tom and my garden is a haven of peace again. :)

I seriously hope this is a "joke".

Why do some people think it's OK for their pet to crap in someone else's garden?
Do people not think about this before they get a cat?
Cats aren't wildlife Lou if people keep them as pets - who do you complain to when a fox does it?!
Why should someone feed and be nice to a cat just so it won't crap in their garden?
Can't you train cats to go in the litter?
Dog owners have to be so much more responsible than cat owners.

Surprised this thread is still here.. Normally the cat lovers get anti cat threads removed

I don't think this is actually an anti cat thread really* its more an anti irresponsible cat owners thread.

*apart from the usual twonkers that come out with airgun type responses, its pretty obvious from their posts that they have never used an airgun and are just wannabe internet hard men.

Many of the posts here are actually offering tips and advice on how to deal with cats who come into thier gardens and cr*p in them. whether you choose to take this advice is entirely up to you.

I'm not sure what help your post actually provides other than a laugh and several insults. Still, keep trying...

As my first post was, I agree that the majority of replies do contain helpful and sensible advice. My last post was aimed at those that have nothing better to do than post nonsense, iresponsible nonsense at that.

It is precisely because of those type of posts that threads dealing with this subject seem to disappear and we never do get a response from cat owners as to why do they think its OK for their chosen pet to cause annoyance to others.

Well the responses I have seen before deletion of the cat threads tends to follow the line that Tiddles is a free spirit and has the right to go anywhere.
