Sorry mate, can't take you seriously.

You don't have to and, as said, problem solved, no one hurt, I now have garden and cars, that no longer get damaged by neighbours cats.

    Roll on spring and summer!!

We have a cat, its a chit bag! How long do they live for? ours is around 8 years old. craps all over the back garden, luckily the only place as no neighbours have ever complained to us. Craps in and out of the cat littler tray thats outside, tears all the damn wallpaper, ruined our couch and chairs by scratching them to pieces. Pulls the bin over in the kitchen. Constantly wants feeding, we give it one pouch of food in the morning and one on an evening, still not satisfied. Its a neuted female and keeps us awake at night meowing at a small teddy it has. maults fur all the time, blocks up the hoover. brings mice in and hides them, we only locate them when they are rotting and smell like high heaven. pukes up fur balls on the carpet, tries to pull the fish tank over, hides in daft places like behind wall units. Does not show any affection, either bites, hisses or scratches!

Yep best thing we ever got, not!

Dont get a cat cost you lots of money in the long run, not by feeding and injections etc but all the damage they do to your home. Worse thing God ever made!

    Has it been successful Canucklehead?.

Its along the lines of what I would advocate.........

Hi..most successful scheme in North America...compliance rate for dog owners is over 90% but cat folks let down the side at 45%. Pet owners can reap discounts through the 'I Heart My Pet' rewards scheme...a win-win situation.

Even if you don't own one, they can still cost a lot of money and, more importantly time, to protect possessions, outside or in.

    Interesting post though Silky!

That is a good scheme, and thanks for the link. Obviously in Calgary area, pets have been a problem and, authorities have went sat down and put a decent system in place, wish powers at be here would do the same!

I like the traps for hire section, I have a couple of prototypes for hire, they do work :T

There are an awful lot of strays around as well, without owners. There are lots of pregnant cats around whose owners don't bother getting them neutered.

That is an owner problem. It's unkind to subject the cat/s to cruel behaviour (I'm not suggesting you are, but making reference to others) because of this. They are doing something that is perfectly natural to them.

Any issue where a cat or a dog or any other animal for that matter is disturbing people and/or causing a health hazard is the fault of the owner. People need to be educated and be considerate.

We are frequently woken by one of our neighbours dogs yapping away at 5:30am. If I didn't love my bed so much I'd get out of it and go round. Some people just genuinely seem to not consider the impact of their pets on other people. I find the same is often true of Parents. When we have children I hope that I won't turn into one of those Parents who thinks their child can do no wrong as they go around irritating the hell out of people.

Boy, you've got that right. I love cats (dont have one), but do understand that OP wouldnt want cat poo on their garden, But then I dont' want to hear the damn dog next door AND the dog that belongs to the Mother of next door disturbing me. I cant go into my kitchen without the dog/s starting off. And , as for the kids. Well, I don't like hearing OP kids shouting & screaming. WE ALL GOT TO LIVE & LET LIVE. There are so many people living in such a confined space in this country, we may as well keep a smile on our face & deal with whatever our small problem is. (I'm just grateful I don't live next to druggies or party goers). It could be considerably worse. Hey, the cat's not being vindictive, nor are other peoples kids who are screaming(playing) or the damn dogs not barking to annoy - its just its way.

Of course and its pretty obvious why. Let the dog out and then call it and it comes, let the cat out and call it it either hoists two fingers or ignores you. Cats can't be controlled in the same way as dogs.

Dogs evolved from Wolves, wild animals and Cats are not stupid animals if trained from the start any animal can be trained.

You only have to look at pigs as a good example .Its not difficult to house train a pig but it needs training from an early age.

So the fact is its possible to train almost any animal and House cats already exist so if 45% of cat owners do comply then what stops the other 55%?
