you could consider getting a bb gun or air pistol and dealing with it that way. I have a similar problem with a new cat on the block that has killed all nesting birds in my garden (I've watched it do this from the rear window and the birds went mad trying to defend thier nests).

I hate cats and people who love them are even weirder....there's something very odd about the way cats act in my view...

Cat poo is a particular health hazard for young children.

cats are just animals, acting as animals do. Hating them is nonsensical.

I share the same sentiments when I have seen next doors cat play around with a first flight from nest (they nest in my bird box) Jenny Wren. Then there was the vole, young bunny, which was not nice to hear as the cat slowly finished it off!!

    Get real!!

and yet, feeding anti-freeze to a cat is a premeditated act of inhumane evilness. Cats killing young animals is not 'nice', nature is not 'nice' but it can not be called 'evil'. They are just animals acting on instinct. People really need to stop assigning them human motivations.

Indeed. One should reserve ones ire especially for the thoughtless and selfish owners who can't make do with one cat, not even two. A couple of my neighbours have 5 cats each. What's all that about?
It's certainly decimated the birds and other wildlife round here. Well done to them.

DO NOT DO THIS! You could end up killing/injuring the animal and be done for animal cruelty.

    rideo, or is it ideo?

None of it is nice, especially when in my case, owners know of the damage THEIR animals caused me, I say cause, coz like all good engineers, the issue is sorted!!

    Have a good day, ideo.

I have two cats and worry quite a lot about where they poo. I asked my neighbour whose garden I often see them come out of, to please tell me if they poo in his garden and I would come and clean it up. He just laughed and said that's what gardens are for and he is fine about cleaning it up when he has needed to. I'm clearly very lucky to have such a nice neighbour.

I would be willing to meet some of the costs of cat deterents, in fact I have some spray in the shed in case anyone asks, but all the neighbours seem fine when I have asked.

My Dad's neighbour used to smear the cat poo on my Dad's car. I just thought that was wierd. Most cat owners would come and clean it up if you just talked to them.

However if the cat owner is not cooperative, shooting the cat is NOT a reasonable alternative.

Basic BB pistols have very little power but do sting and personally I never aim for the head ,only the rear end and I can say they do think twice about coming in my garden.

People with cats are very good at telling us what we should do as a deterrant but the fact remains we shouldn't have to do anything.

    Take some responsability cat owners...........;)

You seem the exception but I would dispute the most cat owners would clean it up bit. I think most cat owners do not even see the problem.

They can also pierce the skin and cause a whole host of problems, even the basic types. BB guns should only be used to fire at inanimate targets, NEVER at a living thing.

I disagree with you and It does make the cat think twice as to where it makes a mess.

Like I said before if cat owners were responsible the need wouldn't arise would it........

The only thing I would urge people to do who use a BB gun is to make sure your not going to hit anyone else with a stray BB and use common sense.
