cat poo

Options
Sorry for vulgar post but the cat from 2 doors down keeps pooing all over my lawn...every morning there is a new one. I have a small child and I find this disgusting. I pick it up but every day there is a new one and remnants get left. I have tried spray repellant, toy snakes (my mum suggested cats are scared of them!) i don't know what else to try. It must do it before we are up as I never catch it in action so I can't hosepipe it. any suggestions that work please?

If you've never seen it then how do you know whose cat is doing it? Could be one of many cats that probably live locally . The question has been asked many times before but apart from the water pistol/hosepipe suggestion I don't think much else will work... cats are free to do what they want where they want and unfortunately they are doing it in your garden.. I know its not nice but there really is not much you can do..

We put fake snakes down to deter them, and it works:D:D:D

I read somewhere about putting down a pop bottle full of water. They don't like their reflection.

Nothing will stop them all, though.

I think you'll find that it isn't cats. Cats always bury (or attempt to bury) their poo which is why they invariably go in sand, soil or gravel. The animal that will poo on your lawn is a fox.

You will probably find that foxes are crapping in your garden. And if it is happening night after night, then it is very much likely to be a fox as they follow the same route all the time and are creatures of habit.

I know whose cat it is because I have seen it do it on a couple of occassions when I have been up particularly early...I wouldn't mind if it was in the flowerbeds or if it was every now and again but every day is too much, particularly with a small child!
  • Set your alarm for 5am and water pistol the heck out of the little beast. It'll be worth it for the satisfaction.

Is your lawn mown short, or do you allow it to grow long? Cats like to bury their poo, if you've long grass they might perceive it as being buried.

Our neighbours cat does the same - grass and among the stone driveway which gets walked into the house!! - hateful and makes me mad!! - I clean up after my dog but they watch their cat poo and dont even blink ...... pepper deters until it rains (useless as always raining here), lemonade bottles of water - but there are only so many you want to have around your garden!!
Following this with interest to see if any other tips - but you have my sympathies - not good with small children :(

We had the same problem and tried all sorts of remedies without success, bought one of these we were doubtful whether it would work but thought for the price we would give it try as we had spent a small fortune on sprays, powders etc.

Had it a few months now and it has been successful no cat poo, we switch it off during the day to preserve batteries and they last for several weeks, maybe worth a try for the money.
